The first is facing the damage done to credit, which will have a lasting effect, no matter how responsible the borrower had been leading up to the missed mortgage payments and repossession.The next is waiting to find out when the bank will take back the home. That has been the most unpredictable part and could be the most disruptive to everyday life.Finding another place to live while going through this experience can also be quite taxing, especially if you’re being forced to move a family with young children.Bank of America may have a solution to the unknowns of waiting for your home to be repossessed and finding a new place to live. They’re allowing homeowners facing foreclosure to stay in their homes, while renting Bank of America has announced a program that will let homeowners facing foreclosures stay in their homes as renters.The “Mortgage to Lease” program will start as a limited pilot program for up to 1,000 homeowners in Arizona, Nevada and New York selected by the bank.CNN Money published an article about this new program on Friday March 23rd. It’s quite interesting how the program works and seems to be a giant step in the right direction for a bank with plenty of negative publicity about their handling of the foreclosure crisis in America.
