Just 1 year after launching with Benify in 2016, L’Oréal Deutschland was already picking up a prestigious European HR Excellence Award for its pioneering My HR Rewards employee portal.

L’Oréal Deutschland employs a family of more than 2, 200 employees across its Düsseldorf headquarters, manufacturing center and logistical centers in the south. Not only is its employee base geographically spread, but it is also uniquely varied and diverse.

Deutschland, explained how L’Oréal wanted to find a solution which catered to every one of their 2, 200 employee stories: “At L’Oréal Deutschland, we wanted to find a way to better visualize and manage our different company rewards programs. By ensuring that each employee has a sound understanding of their available benefits and rewards – in a way which is easy to access and engage with – we would empower our employees and give even more value to our rewards program. We were able to achieve this through a special technology developed by Benify.”

Using secure cloud technology, the award-winning My HR Rewards portal is a personal digital platform which gives each employee the freedom to access and engage with their complete benefits and rewards offering in just a few clicks via their home desktop, tablet or even smartphone.

Elegantly bringing together several of L’Oréal Deutschland’s HR processes in one place, the easy-to-use portal creates a unique personal journey for each employee – from the company’s

unique “Share and Care”, childcare and healthcare program, to mobility solutions, digital onboarding, ePayslips, digital total reward statements, a new digital employee FAQ center and more.

Martina Heim says that this has helped to increase transparency across their workplace; “Thanks to the online portal, our HR and reward policy of the group has become more transparent and every employee has a clear view on the different elements of her/his remuneration, on the job mapping level

and where she/he is positioned on the market according to Mercer.”

By opening their processes and finding a new, modern approach to how they engage their diverse workforce, L’Oréal Deutschland have been rewarded with more time to focus strategically on the bigger picture – on the things which also matter – such as recruiting, talent management and creating a powerful global- and local employer brand.
