BUDGETS
• Regional budget balance: $32,879.41
• Regional grant: $6,500.00
• Regional Coordinator travel grant: $866.09

SPEECH CONTEST
The spring regional conference will host a speech
competition round on March 2. Competitors will
give a persuasive speech, or an impromptu speech,
but not both. If interested in participating, email Dr.
Tomas Ramos at [email protected] by Feb. 10
to register. Competitors must be registered for the
spring regional conference by Feb. 15.
Persuasive topic: “To convince the audience to
support the idea that community college should be
free”
Impromptu topics: Confidential until 30 minutes
before competition round begins.
PRIZES: First Place: Medal and cost of Catalyst
registration. Second place: Medal and $100. Third
place: Medal and $50. Monies will be paid to the
chapter.

regional website under the events tab.
CHANGES ARE COMING!! Regional Coordinators Drs. Tomas and Theresa Ramos will be stepping down after Catalyst 2019. Any advisors interested in this position, please contact Tomas Ramos at [email protected].
INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR
INTERNATIONAL OFFICE? Contact Dr. Ramos if you would like the region to support
you in any way. Students who want to apply need to submit
a video to HQ before participating in the event.
