APSITHIAThe Apsithia is located in mountainous places especially in Epirus

and Thessaly. The leaves are deep green, narrow and have the shape of a lance. The plant acts as a bitter tonic, stimulant and

emmenagogue. It assists digestion by bitter stimulation of digestive fluids and simultaneously contains oil. Artemisia(Apsi thia )also helps in normalization of menstrual bleeding, lowers

stress and lowers swellings in urinary retention.

BASIL

The plant is found throughout Greece as cultivated in gardens and in pots of houses. Basil leaves have been used traditionally to treat bites from insects and snakes. Spearmint is a type of plant very common in Greece, with nice and pleasant smell , which is grown in backyards and gardens. Its leaves are used for the treatment of skin diseases, while still recommended for cases of rheumatism and tetanus. It is also used as a spice, decoction or aromatic. Finally the Spearmint is used in SOAP-making , confectionary, etc.

SAVORY

Savory is a plant of the Mediterranean countries. It grows in sunlit places, in rocky soil and in scrublands. It is a very old herbal remedy for ailments of the respiratory system and can fight colds in a very quick period of time. It is used as an excellent spice and aromatic herb in cooking, in salads, sauces and roasts.

THYMARI {common}

The common thyme is a small aromatic shrub and is found in the Mediterranean. It grows well in dry conditions, while in irrigated fields it gives greater production. It helps in the digestion of fatty foods, stops hair loss, heals burns and wounds, stimulates the immune system etc. Thyme also has many applications in modern medicines and cosmetics industry because of its antiseptic and wound healing properties.

Marjoram is self-sown in Greece, but it is also cultivated. It is widely used in cooking (is one of the most important herbs of Mediterranean cuisine) but also in the pharmacopoeia.
