@theGBIorg @GreenBuildingInitiative www.thegbi.org GPCP TRAINING & CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP Join the Green Building Initiative (GBI) for a 1.5-day workshop to learn how to execute the vision for better performing public buildings through compliance with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 1-200-02 High Performance and Sustainable Building Requirements. Executive Order 13834 continues to direct agencies to report on performance improvements, cost reductions, energy and water savings, and many other sustainable initiatives as identified by the Guiding Principles. Experienced building industry professionals working with the federal government will become expert users of GBI’s Department of Defense Guiding Principles Compliance for New Construction (DOD GPC NC) sustainable building assessment system. As an added benefit, participants of the workshop may choose to take the Guiding Principles Compliance Professional exam on site or may opt to take it online within 60 days to receive certification. At the end of the course, participants will: Recognize that GBI's GPC programs are the first independent assessment and compliance verification programs enabling government agencies to determine their compliance with the Guiding Principles. Understand the GPC program features and benefits of working with a third-party assessor. Participants will learn about best practices and guidance to reach Compliance with the Guiding Principles. Recall the steps of the GPC for New Construction assessment to collaboratively seek to establish and follow a common set of sustainable Guiding Principles for integrated design, energy performance, water conservation and indoor environmental quality, and materials aimed at helping Federal agencies and organizations. Understand how complying with the Guiding Principles requirements reduces the total ownership cost of facilities, improves energy efficiency and water conservation, provides safe, healthy and productive built environments for the workers and general public that use these buildings and promotes sustainable environmental stewardship. WHO SHOULD ATTEND DOD personnel and contractors who design and execute DOD projects with buildings that are third party certification (TPC) applicable and will be owned by the DOD. WHY ATTEND This in-person and in-depth training on DOD GPC NC is a unique opportunity to prepare yourself to design and construct a building compliant with the Guiding Principles and the UFC 1-200-02 (DOD projects).
