Greenlee holds staunchly to the belief that there is an optimal super abrasive solution and that Greenlee has the ability to develop that solution for the most demanding and difficult grinding applications. Electroplated Thread Chasers A customer was machining uniquely profiled internal threads that were being used as part of a linear slide. This customer required the internal thread to be burr free as well as have an excellent surface finish. The customer was meeting these requirements through the use of conventional abrasives and tools however it was taking a tremendous amount of time. Greenlee developed a family of super abrasive plated thread cleaning tools that had excellent tool life and the customer was able to achieve mirror like surface finishes while reducing the cycle time significantly. Diamond Plated Reciprocating Saw A customer needed help tooling up their uniquely designed wafering machine. Their machine utilized multiple linear saw blades simultaneously that reciprocate to slice wafers. Greenlee developed a linear diamond blade that is plated on .006" backing material and utilizes fine grit diamond to produce an excellent finish with minimal edge chipping.
