The main cause of tilting of canopy Jam Tamchi is non containment of rain run off . Apron provided to the canopy is a later addition due to the fact that it is laid down in the cement concrete . the wastage rain water gullies found in murum soil around the monument is a major cause of tilting . The spalling and flanking of stone membranes inside the canopy perhaps due toaccumulation and seepage of rain water. Steel shoring provided to Arrest the tilting of the canopy is in direct contact with historic fabric of the monument . which is source of the damage to the fabric and its design and beauty.

Wooden planks were used in the walls of fortress due to deterioration of wall facing, due to this wooden planks are also deteriorated and wholes are developed and used by birds as a nesting place.

Actual wall thickness is approximately 30 ft thick which is reducing day by day due to local public damage, weather and seasonal rain falling.

By concluding, there is an Urgent Need to protect the ‘Cultural Heritage', to initiate the understand and the significance. It is suggested to work on the process of Anastylosis and the Anastylosis and the viability of Conservation Area Designation, for the heritage inheritance of the country. It can work as a mile stone to initiate this effort. These historic precinct are the tangible links to our intangible past.
