Comments on the facilityCould we have a fundraiser event specifically to help improve the parking lot?Smoking, Cigarette Butts make the area less desirable. Attendees ignore the rules.Too much cigarette smokeSomething needs to be done about the smokers in front of doors. It's horrible for non smokers. They should be 15 feet away from an entranceCan we do something more about smokers in front of entrance?We're gonna need more sponsor meeting room.Smoking is a problem at front door. Survey UpdatesWhat’s your favorite thing about the Galano Club? networking, making friends in recovery, and a safe place for your recoverythe hugs and smilesJohn Floyd and John HicksonIt is a well organized, very appealing setting for individuals in recovery to feel "Welcome" to come to, no matter what their struggles or joy may be. It is also one of the most efficiently operated facilities for recovery I have found anywhere, and it offers a great choice of beverages and snacks ... not to mention those snacks 'friends' bring to share.It's a second home for manyThe lounge area when it is quiet.Very welcoming, safe, lounge & table/work areas, outdoor area.Club is well maintained.It's commitment to the community to provide a safe space for those in recovery.My favorite thing about Austin Galano Club is how I feel when I am in the building. I love having a "club" that I can call my own where I can get so many of the things I need to help me stay sober and feel sane.I am proud of the facility every time I go in.Unity amid many fellowshipsThat we have it and it's so cool!The variety of recovery.Beyond Belief is a great meeting and the main reason I go to Galano.It feels safe and comfortable.Visiting in the lounge area.I love the ambiance. I always know I have a place to go to and not be alone.LL&LL and that it is its own stand alone clubhouse.The education/life skills/affirmations learned in recovery meetings to rewrite the old messages in my head, the feeling of comfort & safety inside club, the home like access to kitchen facilities, the computer/printer access, the versatile areas throughout the building, the openness/acceptance of all as equals, the likelihood of adults to interact directly with encouragement and acceptance with children and younger generations, the welcome and likelihood to hear various genes of music played in the lounge area, the welcoming of animals into the club because pets give their total, non-judgmental unconditional love.Fellowship,Enjoy the multiple groups that meet at Galano.

Survey UpdatesIf you could change one thing about Galano Club, what would it be? Chill full strength coffee vs. watering it down with ice when it's made. Are there written instructions for coffee bar? I've been given verbal training, but it doesn'tgive me enough confidence to volunteer on my own. There is also inconsistencies in how things are done, e.g. how to handle lack of change (give coffee free vs. not serve). I'm willing to write them if needed. Lambda mtg. announcements waaaay to long. How about an announcement board instead? The catty gaysVaporing/smoking areas better enforced.I am thrilled that each Recovery group will soon have editing rights to customize a tab on the Austin Galano website. This will greatly increase available information for our many recovery areas and encourage communication for all involved. An alternative exit from the building which does not involve walking through a cloud of smoke.I wish we could divide the big meeting room into two spaces with a movable wall.ParkingBrighten up the lounge area - it is too dark.I realize my request for more gay only mtgs is has more to do with the individual groups than Galano. I do feel Galano has and is becoming more of a St8 mtg place which saddens me a bit yet I also know that it is probably best for Galano's long term survival.Prohibit smoking in the outside area. I realize this is unrealistic, but that's what I would change.Smoking outside the front doorn/aWINDOWS. Walking in or out of the Club can be over whelming some days with all the smoke.See more of the board members working the coffee bar and at meetings.No smoking in outside public areas.I have found some of the music played in the lounge area to be inappropriate at times.Better lighting! :)The one thing I would change is to have a large, open, outdoor space for sports and outdoor entertainment.More open to newcomers who aren't young and attractive.
