THANK YOU for your interest in New Vista’s Destination Discovery program, Southern Nevada’s premiere recreational and group respite program!

At the core of all New Vista’s programs is the belief that people of all abilities are of equal worth, deserving of dignity and respect! Participation in Destination Discovery activities is an invaluable opportunity for greater inclusion and camaraderie, in a supportive and safe environment.

With the expert guidance and assistance of our trained staff, special care is taken in the planning of each journey. This includes providing healthier meal options for our adventurers, which means fast-food establishments are not part of the Destination Discovery experience. Destination Discovery groups maintain a 5 to 1 ratio of participants to staff, ensuring that each adventurer receives attention and support throughout the journey!

In addition to providing an important, quality respite support tool for families and caregivers, all Destination Discovery events promote educational opportunities for participants to foster self-confidence, learn relationship building techniques, and social skills, in a fun environment with peers.

The FUN is in the discovery!

A MESSAGE FROM THE DESTINATION DISCOVERY TEAM

Welcome to the 2019 April – June Catalog!

Your Destination Discovery team has been hard at work planning exciting events, new trips, classes and volunteer opportunities we’re sure you will enjoy!

We have wonderful events planned – New monthly Art Club, exciting ride-along experience, outrageous brunch, and our annual summer spectacular trip to San Diego!! With your help and input, Destination Discovery will continue to deliver quality events that are packed full of fun adventures, featuring a great selection of activities in Southern Nevada, volunteer opportunities, as well as out-of-state trips. Our group outings teach important life skills that promote independence, self-advocacy and lifelong friendships.

Please remember that we have limited tickets/space for each activity - our events fill up fast, so be sure to reserve your spot right away! Once you’ve selected the activities you would like to attend, please email your selection(s) to: [email protected] Reservations for events are processed on a first-come/first-served basis. The Destination Discovery team will provide event confirmation emails within 24 hours. Participants must have a valid confirmation from Destination Discovery in order to attend an event – we have very limited seating/transportation available for each event, and cannot take walk-ons. We appreciate your help in following the reservation process.

After one hours of the participant not being picked-up, staff is required to call 311 to report Neglect of a Vulnerable Person.

Destination Discovery does not provide door-to-door service. Arrangements can be made for a secondary pick-up/drop-off location at: Chevron/McDonalds Station 7171 West Ann Rd (Ann Rd & 95). This arrangement must be approved and confirmed 72 hours in advance, and is subject to staff availability.
