Welcome to the magical world of summer camp at Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council. Camp is a place where girls can create memories, make new discoveries, develop lifelong friendships and learn new skills. We strive to make camp a place where girls can become the best they can be, learn to care for and protect the environment and feel part of the camp community. At camp, girls step outside their comfort zone, take risks and grow as leaders. All the programs and sessions offered at our camps are designed to fulfill Girl Scout Leadership Experience outcomes while challenging girls to do new and exciting activities – some of which are only available at camp.
Girl Scout camp is very affordable and a great value for girls and their families. Whether your camper is new or a seasoned camp veteran, there is a program for her. Not a Girl Scout? Not a problem! Just add $15 to your registration.
Take a peek at the camp experience by watching the fun videos in the “Camp” playlist at youtube.com/gsacpc.
Registration begins February 10! Registration is available online or in person at the Council office – 119 E Coronado Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85004.

CAMP DIRECTOR
[email protected] 928.474.2438
All of our resident camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and meet safety standards set forth by Girl Scouts of the USA, and the Arizona Department of Health Services .
Camp Directors recruit and screen mature, qualified staffers who have a desire to share their enthusiasm for camping, the outdoors, and arts. We also hire staff from other countries to give campers the chance to broaden their understanding of other cultures. All camp staffers participate in an intensive pre-camp training which includes program, first aid, CPR, camping, human relations skills and drug testing. Specially qualified staffers direct the water activities, archery, challenge course, rock climbing and horseback riding areas.
Do you know someone who would like to live and work in the cool pines this summer? We are currently hiring for all positions including Nurses, Cooks, Kitchen Staff, Counselors and Program Specialists. Staff must be 18.

special needs Please contact the Camp Director for campers who require special diets (including severe food allergies), special health care or have mobility limitations. At that time, you will be able to discuss the nature of your camper’s needs and gather more information to determine if the proper support, supervision and necessary accommodations can be provided for your camper for a safe, fulfilling camp experience. To be successful at camp, your camper needs to be independent with self-care (showering, dressing, using the restroom) and be comfortable in an 8:1 camper to staff ratio.
We are dedicated to serving ALL girls in our Council and accommodations can be made in many cases. Please contact the camp director for more information prior to registering.
buddies @ camp Girl Scout camp is a wonderful way to meet new people. A camper may
request ONE “buddy” when registering for camp. Both campers must register for the same program or session. Make sure
you and your child’s buddy and her parents are planning this together. Bunk buddy placement is not guaranteed.
Large groups and multiple buddy requests CANNOT be accommodated.
health and safety Our camps meet stringent national standards. The main gate is locked nightly at each camp, and local law enforcement agencies are notified of our camp sessions. A health supervisor (RN, EMT or ARC Certified First Aider) is on duty at all times during the camp sessions to supervise the health and safety of campers and dispense all prescribed medications.
health supervisors needed One of the most important and critical jobs to fill at camp is the Health Supervisor, which requires highly specialized training. We are looking for several individuals to commit to a minimum of one week in these very important positions at camp. Eligible candidates must be a registered nurse, EMT or paramedic (licensed in Arizona) who would consider living and working at camp for at least one full week (Sunday morning through Friday night). Camp-age campers of the health supervisor can attend our sessions at a reduced fee. For more information, please contact a camp director.

transportation to camp Campers have two transportation options for resident camp:
» Parents may drive their campers OR » Register for bus transportation from the Phoenix metropolitan area.
We recommend using the bus. This gives girls an opportunity to meet other girls before they arrive at camp. It also reduces the wear and tear on the camp’s natural environment. Resident camp buses are equipped with air conditioning and bathrooms and are supervised by bus chaperones. The bus fee for resident camp is $60 and is non-refundable. (One way is not available). Bus locations can be found online.
Your camper can ride the bus for free! How? All you have to do is be a bus chaperone! Call 602-452-7080 or email [email protected].
facilities @ camp Sleeping facilities at camp are primarily cabins. Depending on the camp and session attending, it can also include dormitory-style living and platform or traditional tents. Counselors do not share sleeping facilities with campers, but live in close proximity to them. All units are equipped with running water, shower houses and toilets.
camp blogs Each camp posts a weekly blog to help parents stay connected and informed about the weather and exciting activities that occurring at camp. Our blogs might contain pictures and stories, but we cannot guarantee pictures or stories about every child. Check the website for examples of last year’s blogs.

An email reminder will be sent three weeks before your payment due date. Cancellation of registration will occur if payment is not received.
f inancial assistance - camperships GSACPC makes every effort to provide financial assistance so no girl misses out on attending camp due to lack of funds. If you believe attending camp would be a financial hardship, please apply for financial assistance, also known as a “Campership.” Financial assistance ranges from a portion of the

Complete the entire form. Incomplete forms will not be processed. Notification of financial assistance will be sent via email separately
from the confirmation packet. A non-refundable deposit of $30 must be included with registration.
paying for camp A non-refundable $30 deposit per session is required at time of registration. Family and Troop Camp registration must include a $30 per person deposit. The deposit is applied to the cost of the session.
If a session is cancelled by the participant, the deposit is retained. If the Council must cancel a session, the deposit will be returned. Please note that the deposit is not transferable to another camper.
cookie dough & program credits Cookie Dough/Program Credits can be earned by girls for selling Girl Scout cookies. The more cookies a girl sells, the more Cookie Dough/Program Credits she can earn. These can be used to pay for any or all of your summer camp balance. Girls receive the gift cards for Cookie Dough/Program Credits after the Cookie Program is complete. Cookie Dough/Program Credits can also be used at the camp ‘trading posts’ and for other council activities.
