The department of commerce organized a guest lecture on Monday 11th

AMALGAMATION OF COMPANIES

The session was very informative with a narration of good practical examples of

Merger, Acquisition and Amalgamation. The advantages and the dis-advantages

of the said topic was covered in detail together with accounting procedures. The

virtual session was very much applauded by everyone, participated in the guest

lecture.

Breach of contract and remedies for breach of contract

The department of commerce organized a guest lecture on Tuesday i.e 5th January 2021. The

resource person was, Mr. N Suresh, Assistant professor in Government Degree College

,Kukkatpally. The topics covered in the lecture were Breach of contract and remedies for

breach of contract. The lecture began at 10:40am and concluded at 11:30am. It started with

the brief explanation of terminology of the topic discharge of contract. Professor also

highlighted terminologies with examples.

The guest lecture witnessed an active participation from B.Com (reg/comp/hons) final year

students. A total number of 205 students actively participated in the guest lecture. Students

opined that the guest lecture has helped them to get their doubts clarified. The session

concludes with the feedback from students

Report on guest lecture on Perfect Interview (Resume and

Interview skills) Guest lecture by : Ms.Jigna Shah The department of

commerce has organised a guest lecture on “Perfect Interview (Resume and

Interview skills) for B.Com III year Honours,Computers & Regulars given by

Jigna Shah on 07/08/2019. She delivered the lecture explaining the importance

of resume and made students aware about the skills to write and present the

resume . She explained about important criterias which are to be taken care at

the time of interview to the students. The session was very

interactive,informative in nature and students were highly motivated.

Report on Guest Lecture The Department of Commerce organised a guest

lecture on “Cost Accounting Standards” for M.Com II year students on

16.07.2019.

The speaker of the lecture was “KVN.Lavanya” – Bachelor in Technology in Electronics and

Communications from JNTU and a Cost & Management Accountant and has been an All

India 7th rank holder (also first among girls) in CMA Inter. She is the First Lady Secretary,

Vice Chairman and Chairman of Hyderabad Chapter of Cost Accountant She focused on the

Cost standards and its importance in costing and enlightened us on the job of a Cost

Accountant. The session was very interactive, informative and a good learning experience.

Students participated in the discussions raised by the guest speaker.

Session: 1 Mr. H.J.T Kaushik has done his BA LLB and has been a law intern in many

companies. He has served as a legal advisory too. Currently, he is working as a Legal

Consultant at PWC Pvt Ltd.The session was mainly about Data Privacy and ways to protect

one’s data while dealing with social media platforms and search engines. He started by

speaking about Law and difference between Indian law and International law. He spoke about

the difference between EU and SAARC and other associations as an example how the

countries follow similar laws. He told us about how the social media platforms and search

engines like google crome and other MNCs track our data and will know all our personal

information such as our Name and surname, house address, IP address, email Id etc. He gave

us insight about how such accesses (access to gallery, access to contacts, access to

microphone,etc) are dangerous to us if those companies leak our data or sell our data to other

companies, etc. He told us that it is important to read the privacy policies of the applications

we install in our mobile phones. He gave us information about what to do in case, if our

private pictures leaked in certain websites and action to be taken under certain circumstances.

The session was informative and resourceful.

The Department of Commerce organised a guest lecture for Bcom 1st years on 19/01/2019. It

was organised in two sessions by Mr.Sharath Chandra Reddy who is retail manager. He

enlightened the students on the topic managerial skills important for efficient management.

The students felt it interesting and inspiring. They felt that such lectures are necessary to

guide them in setting their goals and plan their life.

“Problems faced by women entrepreneurs” Guest lecture by Mrs. Shailaja

Parvataraju.

The department of commerce has organised a guest lecture on “Problems faced by women

entrepreneurs” for B.Com second year Honours,Computers & Regulars given byMrs.

ShailajaParvataraju, Founder &CEO Elements 5 Design on 28/09/2018.A terracotta and

handloom designer, and a successful entrepreneur. She gave us an insight into the problems

faced by women entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas, till date. She emphasized on the

importance of implementing sincere efforts towards our aims and work towards the

accomplishment of them. Women in general tend to lose themselves while trying hard to

keep up to the expectations of family and society. Mrs. Shailaja enlightened the students with

the importance of self-care, while balancing it with every other commitment that comes in the

way of reaching a personal goal. She has also given many insights from her personal

experience through the journey of becoming a true entrepreneur, she also told students how to

make an impact on the society and contributing towards development of the the nation by

employing rural Craftsmen and other workforce. The session was interactive and students

participated in the discussions raised by the guest speaker. The session was very interactive,

informative in nature and students were highly motivated.

“Goal Setting and career Planning” Guest lecture by: Mr. Amaan

Raza,

The department of commerce has organised a guest lecture on “Goal Setting and career

Planning” for B.Com Final year Honours,Computers & Regulars given by Mr. Amaan Raza

on 19/09/2018.Mr. Raza, alumini of college spoke about goal setting and career planning .He

explained the students to be smart in setting up goals and in choosing smart career. He

enlightened the students with five smart goals.S-Smart,M-Measurable,A-Attainable,R-

Relevant,T-Timebound.He shared his point of view regarding attaining work experience after

graduation and pursuing studies later. He explained the importance of designing an objective

in career and setting up a goal by sharing various examples. The session was interactive and

students participated in the discussions raised by the guest speaker. The session was very

interactive, informative in nature and students were highly motivated.

“Audit - Its Applications” Guest lecture by: Mr. Sai Chada, EYLLP-

Consultant

The department of commerce has organised a guest lecture on “Audit - Its Applications “for

B.Com Final year Honours,Computers & Regulars given by Mr. Sai Chadaon 04/08/2018. He

introduced definition of auditing. He also explained the inter linkage between various courses

like CS, CMA, CFA, CIA and Auditing. He explained the concept of Auditing by taking

simple examples and tried to explain various steps and procedures adopted in the process of

Auditing. The session was interactive and students participated in the discussions raised by

the guest speaker. The session was very interactive, informative in nature and students were

highly motivated

30/06/2018. He has delivered the lecture explaining the importance of Foreign Trade

Documents and letter of credit in his lecture. He explained about various types of documents

required in foreign trade to the students. The session was very interactive, informative in

nature and students were highly motivated.

Navanitha Lahari on 28/8/2017. She has delivered the lecture explaining the

The department of commerce has organized a guest lecture on Research

Methodology – Sampling Methods & Techniques for B.com III Hons &M.Com

II Year students on 22-7-2016 by Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Rao, NIN, Hyderabad.

He delivered lecture on Sampling Methods & Techniques. Feedback was also

collected from the students. The session was interactive and informative in

nature and students were highly satisfied with the seminar.

D)GUEST LECTURE Guest Lecture by Prof. K V Achalapathi A guest lecture was held on

03/11/2015 for M.Com and B.COM II (Reg/Comp/Hons) year students delivered by Prof. K.V.Achalapathi, Department of Commerce, Osmania University on topic “Descriptive statistical Analysis and its importance in making decision in business”. He explained about the descriptive and inferential statistical methods applied in different fields of businesses. He took various business examples and its adoptability in business decision. Overall the guest lecture was very informative, interactive and interesting.

Guest Lecture by Dr. A. Patrick A Guest Lecture delivered by Dr. A. Patrick, Professor, Osmania University, on

topic “Statistics-A Real Time Experience” to B.Com Second Year

(Reg/Comp/Hons) Students on 29th July 2015. He gave an insight on

applicability of Statistics in day-to-day life. He made the students to understand

the various life situations where they applied statistics. He explained this by

taking various examples related to the concepts of certainty, risk, uncertainty

and conflict situations of Decision making. The session was very interesting,

interactive and informative.

Department of commerce conducted guest lecture for B.COM III YEAR (REG/COM/HONS)

students on topic “PRIG PICTURE INVESTING” by MR. VISHAL GUPTA CA,MBA

(SPAIN) on 20th July 2015.The lecture focused on role of STOCK EXCHANGES in terms

of investment, liquidity and risk diversification. He also spoke about Macro Economic,

Indicators, Financial Markets, National Budgets etc . The lecture was very interesting and

informative.

APPLICATION OF STATISTICS

Department of commerce conducted guest lecture for B.COM II YEAR (REG/COM/HONS)

students on topic ‘STATISTICS – A real time experience by PROF. A. PATRICK, Osmania

university on 28th July 2015. He explained the APPLICATION OF STATISTICS by various

examples of day-to-day life. It was very informative and interesting.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN COSTING PROFESSION

Department of commerce conducted career guidance for B.COM I YEAR students of

(REG/COM/HONS) on career opportunities in COSTING profession on 5th August 2015 .

The session was addressed by MS. LAVANYA, SECRETARY, ICMAI, Hyderabad chapter.

She explained about the course in ICMAI and its value in choosing their career. It was very

motivating, inspiring and valuable session.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY. ‘

Department of commerce organized a guest lecture for B.COM III YEAR (HONORS)

students by PROF. M. USHA, HEAD DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT, NIZAM

COLLEGE, Hyderabad on 8th August 2015 on topic RESEARCH METHODOLOGY. ‘The

focus of the lecture was on area of interest select a topic of the project, Title Framing,

Establishing an Objective, Literature Review, Sources And Collection Of Data, Data

Analysis and Interpretation As Well as chapterizations . The lecture was very much

interactive and informative.

SEMESTER) students by MS.LAVANYA SECRETARY ICMAI Hyderabad chapter. She

spoke to the students about COST ACCOUNTING STANDARDS. It was very inspiring and
