Protect Our Second Amendment

Page 2: Guns

Are Guns to Blame?“the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” – Second Amendment , Bill of Rights

Are guns to blame for high death rates?

Banning firearms will only do more harm then good.

Firearms are beneficial to safety.

Gun laws only affect those who obey the law.

Violent crimes increase when countries ban guns.

How are firearms beneficial to safety?

According to the US Bureau of Statistics approximately 2.5 million Americans legally use guns to protect their families, homes, and livelihood.

Of the 2.5 million gun owners, about ½ million of them have used their firearm to save lives.

Approximately 35,000 gun related deaths per year.

That mean with every gun related death, there are 71 lives protected and 14 lives saved.

” Having a firearm saves more lives then are lost.” – Liz Michaels

Gun laws only affect those who obey the law!

Illegal or not criminal will get firearms.

According to Public broadcasting services, ”55 % of arrestees say they can obtain a firearm illegally.”

Based on a study performed by the National Institute of Justice, “Many juveniles and adults can easily obtain illegal guns.”

In the same study of people who were arrested for a wide range of crimes, it showed that a higher percentage of arrestees carried illegal firearms then citizens that legally owned them.

Evident that criminals who break the law don’t care if they get caught with an illegal firearm, banning them will only make it easier and more likely that they commit crimes.

Likelihood of victim carrying a firearm = Extremely low = likelihood of crime

Violent Crimes IncreaseAccording to the National Center for Policy Analysis, “countries that have recently strengthened gun-control laws with the promise of lowering crime have instead seen violent crime soar.”

In the four years after the United Kingdom banned handguns in 1996, gun crime rose by an astounding 40 percent.

Since Australia's 1996 laws banning most guns and making it a crime to use a gun defensively, armed robberies rose by 51 percent, unarmed robberies by 37 percent, assaults by 24 percent and kidnappings by 43 percent.

While murders in Australia fell by 3 percent, manslaughter rose by 16 percent

Evident that banning guns doesn’t reduce crime, in fact it increases it.

The numbers speak for themselves

All scientific studies and research prove that banning firearms will only cause more harm then good.

From problems within our own Country, to the evidence in others, it is obvious that banning firearms is not the answer.
