Hilaria Baldwin’s Hamptonite CollectionBy Jessica Mackin

The Lexington Clothing Company, a Stockholm-based lifestyle brand, has launched the Hamptonite Collection, which is in-spired by Hilaria Baldwin. Hilaria is a health and wellness expert and fitness and news correspondent for EXTRA TV. In 2012 she married actor Alec Baldwin, a long time Hamptons resident.

This limited edition collection of resort essentials is Lexington Company’s first design collaboration in the United States.

Lexington Company Creative Director Kristina Lindhe believes, “Hilaria merges casual luxury with modern style effortlessly. She is the classic Lexington Company woman.”

The Hamptonite Collection is available in all 55 of the Lexington concept stores globally, including East Hampton and Southamp-ton and on lexingtoncompany.com. Price points range from $69

for the striped beach towel (at right), perfect for July 4th, to $235 for a flowey summer maxi dress.

Highlights also include the Alec shirtdress (above), which emu-lates a tailored man’s shirt for $179. All of the Hamptonite Collection pieces mirror the comfortable and casual look of the Hamptons.

A percentage of all sales from the Hamptonite Collection will go to Guild Hall Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in East Hampton, which is dedicated to providing a cultural space and arts education for the local community.

For more information on the Hamptonite Collection visit www.lexingtoncompany.com. For more on Guild Hall visit www.guild-hall.org.

Summer Soundtrack!

The Black KeysPhoto by Danny Clinch

18

The Black Keys’ new album, Turn Blue, was released May 13 on Nonesuch Records. Produced by Danger Mouse, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, Turn Blue features 11 new tracks including the first single, “Fever.”

Turn Blue was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood during the summer of 2013.

Carney comments on the new album, “We are always trying to push ourselves when we make a record—not repeat our previous work but not abandon it either. On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds. We’re excited for the world to hear Turn Blue.”

This is the eighth full-length album from the duo and follows 2011’s El Camino.

The Black Keys have embarked on an extensive European fes-tival tour this summer. For more visit www.theblackkeys.com.

Summer is officially here and that means beaches will be full of summer fashion and style. Ambro Style is a company that was started by fashion designer Matthew Ambrosio and this year he is coming out with Ambro Swimwear. Men and women can order custom made bikinis and beach boxers to fit their individual body shape and style. Every item is made to fit and they’re manufactured here in New York which means everything stays here in the United States. The prints are all original and if you’re a couple, you can even get custom made matching suits! He doesn’t just make them for men and women, kids can get a custom made suit too!

Ambrosio originally started out making ties of all kinds, from leather to bow ties to custom prints for the individual and for corporations. One of his most famous corporate ties were made for the Pink Tie Organization. They were in high demand and then women started asking for him to custom make something similar for them. The amazing thing with Ambro Style is that if you can think it, he can make it. Couples who are getting married have even ordered custom bow ties for the groomsmen to match the bridesmaids.

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to have Matthew style some of the cast of “Trust Me, I’m A Lifeguard” movie during the Tribeca Film Festival. Other filmmakers have since requested his designs for their cast members as well. Matthew has taken his fashion designs over to Italy which gives him a start in the European market. This summer he will be taking the designs to the Hamptons and Montauk with fashion shows and you’ll be able to meet him and find out how you can get your own custom made bikini or beach boxer.

Matthew has a strong passion for what he does and a lot of care and effort goes into every piece he designs. He has become one of the most highly demanded fashion designers in New York and is soon to be a household name. You can visit his website at www.ambrostyle.com and you can follow him on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with what he’s doing next!

Locked, Rocked and Loaded…that’s the Joe Bayer Band in a nutshell. The Illinois native, Joe Bayer, began his musical journey at an early age and played throughout the Midwest before moving to Los Angeles, California. He quickly landed on his feet when his hard rock act Devastation Run landed record deal with Ironworks Records. Performing all over the west coast came to a halt when a family situation took him to New York. In no time at all, Bayer was sitting in with various bands who were hoping he would make himself a permanent member of their band. But Joe had other plans. Under the guidance of a prominent Nashville promoter, the CMG Records Nashville Recording Artist, Joe Bayer formed his own band.

In 2002 Joe was the proud recipient of Indie awards for New Male Vocalist and Song of the Year in Nashville, Tennessee. “To Make A Love Grow” charted at the number two position in the People Magazine (Europe edition).

The Joe Bayer Band has opened for Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, J. Geils Band, The Farm and The Lost Trailers to name a few of the popular bands in country music. They have shared the big stage with some top names in country music including Ronnie Dunn, Lee Brice, Charlie Daniels, Lorrie Morgan, Chris Young and Lonestar.

The band members consist of a pool of talented musicians in their own rights. On Lead Guitar and Vocals is Brother Dave who defies categorization. Sam “The Freight Train” Bryant beats the drums. Not only has he toured and recorded with Kenny Wayne Shepherd for six years, he toured with some of the most famous bands in America earning both a gold and platinum recording along with a nod for a Grammy Award.

On Keyboards and Vocals is New York City born Mike DiMeo who is a true professional versed in many styles of music. Long Island born bassist George Ellert has 37 years professional playing experience including both the electric and upright bass. Steven May is not only the Music Director for the Joe Bayer Band but also plays the fiddle and mandolin. Paula Rose is the talented female vocals/harmonies in the band.

Joe Bayer BandBy Annemarie Davin

CONTINUED ON PAGE 22.

Page 22: Hampton Daze July 2014

Joe Bayer is a talent that is set for stardom. He commands attention while on stage not only due to his down to earth attitude but his passion and love for music exudes through his singing and camaraderie with fellow band members. Every musician is influenced by other musicians and some of Joe’s early inspirations were Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Paycheck and George Jones. These legends paved their own way and made their mark in country music and the music industry as a whole. Joe Bayer will follow in their footsteps and make his own mark in the industry and with the recognition he has already received, he is definitely well on his way.

There have been awards, television appearances, radio interviews and articles that all contribute to the Bayer’s rising success. Radio stations such as Country 93 FM in Canada, K102 in Seattle, NRBN in Nashville, 95.5 The Wolf in Illinois, WPAT 930 AM in New York City, My Country 96.1 in Long Island, New York, Thunder 106 in New Jersey and Night Rider Radio in Kentucky have all had Joe Bayer on their stations as a guest and have interviewed him. That is quite an array of being heard around the country. He has been written up in publications such as the Ottawa Times in Illinois, the Houston Examiner in Texas,

Newsday and Good Times in Long Island, New York, British Country Music, Nashville Country Club, Line Dancer Magazine in Nashville, Full Throttle Magazine in New York City and Ottawa Delivered in Illinois. His single “She’s with the Band” received a Grammy nod and “Country Thang” has been played on the Highway Sirius. There is no stopping when it comes to recognition. Joe Bayer is taking country music by storm and his label, CMG Records Nashville, is proud to have him as part of their family.

If you’d like to check out some of his videos such as “Hello Sunshine, Goodbye Rain” which features Gary U.S. Bonds, then visit his website at www.joebayerband.com. You can also check out the venues he will be performing at on that website and I suggest you catch one of the performances sometime this year because I suspect that this amazing talent will soon be performing in sold out stadiums across the nation and internationally.

Dining

BLT Steak, the flagship concept from ESquared Hospitality, has returned for its sophomore year at The Capri boutique hotel in Southampton this summer.

The intimate restaurant space will be open through Labor Day, serving diners in the 110 seat restaurant and on the covered patio.

My friend and I sat down to a very enjoyable dinner at the restaurant. With executive chef Clifford Crooks helming the kitchen, BLT Steak at Capri Southampton features the restaurant’s signature dishes, from the famed popovers, tuna tartare, to classic steaks, and desserts such as the peanut butter chocolate mousse. Chef Crooks also features seasonal specials like scallop crudo and sautéed branzino.

The BLT signature popover, that was brought to the table before dinner and included a recipe to make your own, was fantastic way to start the meal.

For appetizers we tried the tuna tartare, prepared with avocado and soy-lime dressing. The dish consisted of complimentary flavor profiles that made an exquisite starter dish. The lobster cocktail was delicious as well, and perfect for the season.

For my main course I opted for the 12-ounce filet mignon with

a side of glazed orange and mint flavored carrots. The rich, savory steak was everything I had hoped for and prepared to perfection. The sautéed branzino, imported from Italy, with shitake mushrooms and basil was also a fantastic option with a side of grilled asparagus to accompany.

From the sophisticated cocktail menu to the intricate desserts, everything at BLT Steak was done amazingly. The tempting peanut butter chocolate mousse to end our meal was heavenly.

BLT also offers poolside fare at The Bathing Club at Capri Southampton during daytime hours and a menu of small plates for those enjoying the outdoor bar and lounge areas in the evening.

The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday through Labor Day weekend, as well as for poolside lunch service on Saturdays and Sundays.

Under the historic roof of the 1770 House in East Hampton Village guests enjoy Chef Michael Rozzi’s refined contemporary American cooking upstairs or his more casual traditional pub fair in the downstairs tavern. Each has its own distinctive atmosphere with the same outstanding quality and service, making 1770 one of the best dining locations in the Hamptons. Last week we visited the main dining room for dinner.

To start we were sent a dish of Hog’s Neck Bay Oysters (North Fork) on the half shell with cucumber shallot and black pepper mignonette for the table to share.

For appetizers we ordered the seared Hudson Valley foie gras with red wine gastrique, strawberry rhubarb compote on a house baked brioche and it was a definite hit. The spring sweet pea soup with olive oil and crisp bacon was also perfect.

The 18 month parma prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella with fresh turkey figs and aged balsamic was delicious and enjoyed by our whole table.

For an entrée the seared Scottish salmon with sweet baby fennel, smoked pimento, guanciale, sherry and shallots was fantastic.

The roasted Berkshire pork tenderloin with rosemary honey scented root vegetables and black truffle risotto was cooked to perfection. The hand cut fettucini with fresh ricotta cheese, wild ramp and asparagus pesto, hazelnuts and fava beans was brilliantly executed.

For dessert we would highly recommend the warm chocolate bread pudding or the lemon curd tart with strawberry rhubarb.1770 House also has an outdoor dining area for those who want to dine under the stars this summer while enjoying the brilliant creations from Chef Rozzi’s kitchen.

I visited Andre Balazs’ Sunset Beach on Shelter Island with a group of friends for a relaxing afternoon lunch.

During the afternoon we dined on the restaurant’s French fare. A favorite appetizer was the artichokes frites, long stemmed crispy fried artichokes with aioli.

The moules marinieres with white wine, confit garlic and frites obligatoires was a perfect pairing to go with the beach front setting. The Sunset Beach cheeseburger was a favorite of many, it came with gruyere, frites and cornichons. The paillard de poulet with green salad was cooked perfectly and delicious. After lunch we sipped cocktails like the rose sangria, while enjoying a game of pingpong on the back patio.
