This is an exhibition where information about the Eucharistic Miracles of the World can be viewed. The exhibition will be displayed in classrooms 2 and 3 in our school and available for viewing during the scheduled times. If you attend with children, please monitor them as damage to this exhibition must be paid for by our church.

Mark!

We would like to wish Mark Sanchez, our very own Mainte-

nance Technician, a very Happy Birthday. I am certain that

we can all attest to the wonderful job that Mark has been doing

for our beloved church since his arrival. Our church property

has never looked better and Mark continues to improve on

the property as a whole. He comes in on Saturdays, one of his

days off, to water the flowers by the fountain and to ensure the

floors in the church look good for our Holy Days and Vigil

Masses. He takes such pride in his work and we are very proud

to have him here. Have a blessed Birthday Mark!

The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus We will be celebrating the Patron Feast Day of our beloved church on Friday,

June 28th. We will begin with a procession at 5:30pm followed immediate-

ly with Mass. During the Mass we will have the Consecration of the Sacred

Heart of Jesus. After Mass, there will be a dinner in the gym. The Mass will

be bilingual.

La Fiesta del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Vamos a celebrar nuestra fiesta del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús viernes, el 28

de junio. Empezamos con un procesión a las 5:30pm con la Misa direc-

tamente después. Vamos a tener la Consagración del Sagrado Corazón de

Jesús durante la Misa. Vamos a tener una cena después de la Misa en el gim-

nasio. Esta Misa es bilingüe.

By attending this Mass, you may receive a plenary indulgence. There

are, however, certain criteria that must be met in order to receive this

plenary indulgence.

To gain a plenary indulgence you must:

Be baptized and in the state of grace, at least at the time the indul-genced work is done.

Have “the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin.” Otherwise, the indulgence becomes partial, not plena-ry.

And fulfill these three conditions:

Sacramentally confess your sins

Receive Holy Communion. (“It is certainly better to receive it while participating in Holy Mass, but for the indulgence only Holy Communion is required”). Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father. One Our Father and one Hail Mary fully satisfies this. One sacramental confession suffices for gaining several plenary indulgences, but a separate Holy Com-munion and separate prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father are required for each plenary indulgence. According to the most recent Church guidelines on the subject, “it is sufficient that these sacred rites and prayers be carried out within several days (about 20) before or after the indulgenced act.” Of course, you must also:

Perform the prescribed work to which the indulgence is at-tached.

Have at least a general intention to gain the indulgence. You can’t receive an indulgence unintentionally or by accident.

If any part of the requirements is missing, then the indulgence becomes partial. Heaven determines the degree of the partial in-dulgence.

If you are interested in helping with VBS, please contact Lora Rodriguez at 575-309-8130. This is a good opportunity for Confirmation kids (8th grade -12th grade) to earn service

hours.

The next English Baptism class will

be held on Tuesday, June 25th at

12:00pm, noon. This class is consid-

ered an express lunch class that

provides those who are busy and can

only attend these classes during their

lunch breaks. This class will take

anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes.

Please remember that this class is

mandatory for both parents and God-

parents wanting to Baptize children in

the Catholic church. Please call the

Baby Bottle Drive

The annual Baby Bottle Drive that raises money for

our local Pregnancy Resource Center is over. Please

turn in your bottles to the church office during office

hours. Your generosity is always appreciated. This

is such a wonderful display of support for an im-

portant cause. The battle for

human rights is still very

much under way. Ensuring

that girls and women are

provided with the infor-

mation and resources to

make one of the most im-

portant decisions of their

lives is of the upmost im-

portance. These funds will

go towards doing just that.

4th of July

4th of July Mass will be celebrated at

8:00a.m. in English instead of the regular

5:30p.m. schedule. Also, there will be no

Mass and no Adoration on Friday, July 5th.

The food pantry operates each 2nd and 4th Saturday of

the month at 9:00a.m. in an effort to help the less fortunate

of God’s children in our community. Thanks be to God, our

Food Pantry is now the largest in Eastern New Mexico! An-

yone interested in volunteering, please come at 8:30AM or

call Rosie Buchan at 575-309-5040 for further information.

We are in need of volunteer drivers for food box

deliveries as well as help Friday mornings.

The Food Pantry is in need of the following items:

Mashed potatoes, canned fruit, cookies, peanut butter and

jelly/jam.
