HARBOUR LIGHTS FREEZER AND CHILLER TEMPERATURE MONITORING CIRCULAR ECONOMY INTRODUCTION IMPACT SUMMARY BUSINESS ASSISTANCE Used to purchase Harbour Lights is an award-winning fish and chip restaurant and takeaway. Serving the nation's favourite food to the highest possible standards, with welcoming customer service. Harbour Lights operate 19 fridges and freezers with a requirement to monitor temperature records twice daily to comply with statutory food safety regulations. This has been a manual process that can impact performance during busy peak times. Tevi helped identify a hi-tech solution that minimises food wastage and reduces man hours spent temperature monitoring. Each fridge & freezer will be fitted with a temperature sensor, that transmits data via a continuous wireless stream back to a central unit. Data records are stored in the cloud and can be viewed from anywhere at any time with alerts set to inform staff if there is a temperature regulation problem. This project has helped to identify problems with refrigeration temperature regulation at an early stage and reduced food wastage. We are on track to achieve equivalent savings of £2700 in its first year of use. The technology has also reduced the manual labour of recording temperatures resulting in improved workforce efficiency.
