Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.

Matthew 22:21

FR. RON'S RAMBLINGS [email protected]. RON'S RAMBLINGS [email protected]

We welcome the 127 Confirmandi, listed on the front page of this bulletin, as fully-initiated members of our worshiping community. We thank their parents, sponsors, and those in our Faith Formation and Youth Ministry who have helped prepare them for Confirmation. The ideal setting for a Confirmation liturgy is a regular Sunday parish liturgy. In that way, the entire community is present to celebrate with the confirmandi, and welcome them into the community. That setting also reminds us that a primary task of our community is to give birth to new members through initiating new members sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Because of the large number of confirmation students in our parish, the Confirmation liturgy is a special liturgy in order to accommodate the larger numbers. But we must keep in mind that this is a great parish event. As we identify our Confirmation students at Masses in the next couple of weeks, please give them warm congratulations.

(Continued on page 3)

OUR FOCUS

St. Isidore provides a safe, positive, and nurturing environment so that persons of every background feel included and engaged here.

Our doors are open. We reach out to those who are seeking God’s grace and meet them where they are.

St. Isidore is a strong, passionate place of faith. Together we will build up our community and share it with those around us.

FR. RON'S RAMBLINGS (continued from page

After being “out of the classroom” for a number of years, I have volunteered to be a catechist in our Faith Formation Program, teaching fifth graders. The experience has reminded me of how much time and effort goes into preparing classes and teaching, and leads me to appreciate even more the great amount of time and effort our parish catechists give to their ministry. It also reminds me how great our kids are!I will be away from the parish next weekend as I will be part of the Presenter Team for a Retrouvaiile weekend experience. Retrouvaille is a ministry for couples in a troubled marriage. Fr. Bill Siebert will be presiding at Masses in my absence. Please give him a warm welcome! And please keep the couples attending the weekend, as well as us Presenters, in your prayers

God Bless you!Fr. Ron Victor

As always, you, our parishioners amaze us with your generosity. We simply put our list of needed items in the Bulletin, and because of you, it quite miraculously just appears!!! We are so very grateful that you will make it possible for us to deliver the necessities for Thanksgiving Dinner and much more to local families this year. Just like the need, the list is long this week, and we humbly ask you for your help yet again. We have less than four weeks to gather and pack everything local families need, so please excuse the many requests, and God Bless You for your kindness. (from KM)

We only have 5 weeks left until our Thanksgiving food distribution. Only 5 weeks to collect everything!

ARMCHAIR AEROBICSWant to stay in shape? Join the Armchair Aerobics! This is a FREE exercise program and is offered to anyone that would like to come. Join us every Monday from 8:45 am to 9:45 am in the Resource Center.Presented by the Parish Health Ministry Team.

I often get questions about what to do with unused and unwanted medications in parishioners’ homes. The DEA Drug Take Back Event is a great tool to combat the Opioid epidemic in our community, as well as responsibly clean out our medicine cabinets! It is good practice to rid your homes of these potentially dangers meds at least twice a year. I usually recommend doing this, (along with checking your smoke detector batteries) the beginning of Day Light Savings Time, and the end of Day Light Savings Time, which is next weekend.

Mother Teresa said that we must love as God loves, help as God helps,

and give as God gives. If you are able to donate, we need:• Stage 2 baby food

(meat mixed with vegetables)

• Aveeno and Aquaphor creams & shampoo

Sisters have graced the halls of St. Isidore church with the music of Catholic School Education; just like in the good old days.

We were singing along with the Sisters, to some of our favourite songs.

There was fun, food, and prayer through melody. Those who sing for God, pray twice!
