    oils. Even though its origin goes back to Africa,

    today the biggest palm oil producers are locatedin South East Asia. Production of palm oil has

    boomed in accordance with the demand for

    edible oil and oleochemicals in biofuels.

     The crude palm oil extraction starts from press unit. Pressed crude oil

    passes through the vibrating sieve to apart from fibres and is gathered in

    crude oil tank conditioned with heating equipment. To desand process,

    crude oil treat via desander and is stored the last stop before decanter.

     The Decanter separates into two phase ; liquid phase (palm oil) and solid

    phase (cake). Then, the palm oil is purified from residuals via separator

    and is ready to store.

    Flexibility

    Design & Working Principle

    A decanter centrifuge is a separation machine which consists of a bowl, a screw conveyor located inside thebowl, a gearbox and a drive group providing the rotation of both the bowl and the conveyor and finally asolid frame which is designed to carry all these components in a compact and robust arrangement. As the feed enters the bowl through a feed pipe, it is accelerated due to the rotation of the bowl. Centrifugal

    forces cause the sedimentation of the solid phase on the wall of the bowl. These sediments accumulatedon the bowl’s wall need to be moved towards the conical end of the bowl for further compaction anddewatering. The screw conveyor located at the center of the bowl provides this movement as it rotates inthe same direction as the bowl but at a slightly different speed. Thanks to the differential speed, the screwconveyor scrapes off the accumulated solid towards the conical end. The liquid phase flows and dischargedfrom liquid discharge chute.

    Design & Working Principle

    Self-Cleaning Centrifugal Separator is comprised of three main groups:a high speed bowl in which the mechanical separation occurs,a drive group that provides the required G-Force to maintain optimum separation process,a solid frame structure to embed the rotational accessory.

    Centrifugal Separator continuously separates the fed product into three ‘phases’, i.e. subdivisions, being waste

    water, purified PALM OIL and cake by taking advantage of excessive G-Force generated in the bowl volume. The heart of the mechanical separation basis can be summarized as accelerating the natural phenomena ofdecantation arising from the specific density difference between liquids which hold exact volume fractionsin a suspension (or cake). The disk stack takes place at this point, maximizing the surface area where heavyPALM OIL and residuals are separated. Purified PALM OIL then discharged under pressure from bowl volume.
