HB2504 REQUIREMENTS Texas House Bill 2504, passed by the State Legislature and signed by the Governor in 2009, required each institution of higher education to make available to the public on the institution’s public website each faculty member’s CV and Syllabus for each course offered by the institution. As a result, Syllabi and Resumes will be loaded into MyRebel (the portal) to satisfy the requirements of HB2504. Go to www.hillcollege.edu Log into the portal/MyRebel. (Check your Hill College email for your login credentials. If you have not received your login, contact Debbie Daw at [email protected]).

Texas House Bill 2504, passed by the State Legislature and signed by the Governor in 2009, requiredeach institution of higher education to make available to the public on the institution’s public websiteeach faculty member’s CV and Syllabus for each course offered by the institution.

As a result, Syllabi and Resumes will be loaded into MyRebel (the portal) to satisfy the requirements ofHB2504.

Go to www.hillcollege.edu

Log into the portal/MyRebel.(Check your Hill College email for your login credentials. If you have not received your login, contactDebbie Daw at [email protected]).

SYLLABUSClick on the SCHEDULE tab.

Under All My Courses, click on “Future Courses” or “Current Courses”. Click on one of your Courses.

Click on SYLLABUS on the far left side of the page. (There is a “HANDOUTS” section on the page but thisis not the place to put your Syllabus. Make sure you click on SYLLABUS on the far left side of the page).

Choose “Add a Handout”Name of Course: Testing SyllabusBROWSE to where your Syllabus is stored on your computer

Pick the dates you want the Syllabus displayed (must be available for 2 years)Public Access: checkmark the box so everyone may see this pageClick on Save

Repeat for each course you teach.

RESUMEEmail your current Resume to Deanne at [email protected] She will email back the link to use.In the orange stripe at the top of the page, click on “Personal Info”.

Click on the CUSTOM INFO tab.

Click on “Add an Item”.

Inside the body of the box, type “Your Name Resume”.Highlight these words, and click on the chain icon to create a hyperlink.

An Insert Link box will pop up. In the URL place, type: https://myrebel.hillcollege.edu/icsfileserver/faculty/Your_Name_Resume.pdf

Click OK.Click SAVE at the bottom of the page.

Bring up your Course again, and check to see that the Syllabus shows when you click on SYLLABUS. Thenclick on the “little blue i” and your Resume will appear.
