Resurrection, Faith & Doubt. Each of the Gospels tells about Jesus’ friends who found the empty tomb on Easter morning. The story of Jesus’ resurrection doesn’t end there. Read about Thomas, who had trouble believing that God really raised Jesus from death. Read aloud the story of Thomas from your Bible, John 20:24-29, then engage in the simple activity at this link: http://bit.ly/res_faith_doubt.

We send loving prayers and well wishes to those who have a birthday!

Parish Finances - a brief word. Your generosity to the parish is deeply appreciated, and we continue to operate ever so slightly in the “black.” (This means we are more than $25,000 ahead of budget this fiscal year!) Yet there are two big ticket items in our near future. First, we just received a matching grant of $10,000 from the Archdiocese to help fund new carpeting in the church. As you know, the carpeting buckles in many places, which creates a safety hazard. But in order to make use of this grant, we need to come up with an additional $15,000 to do the job. Second, we need to complete the pin-tucking work on the bricks of our church (west, north, and east walls). This work should be completed this summer so that all four walls are done in same year. Cost: $28,000. More info to come on these crucial projects. In the meantime, please use your envelopes or go online (https://stcharlespdx.weshareonline.org/) to help offset these costs. Thanks so much!

Holy Week & Easter Pictures. What an amazing time we had as a community during Holy Week and Easter! Take a moment to look at the photos we’ve posted on our website at http://www.stcharlespdx.org/news/holy-week-via-pictures.

Save the date for the Altar Society Salad Luncheon on Saturday the 29th of April, at 12:00. Entertainment will be provided by our St. Charles youth. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available in the

Parish office. All are invited. Bring friends and enjoy a good time and good food.
