Term 1 2016 Sport Options— On Monday all parents of boys attending ATC in 2016 were sent an email from Communications @
ATC with information regarding sport at ATC in Term 1 2016. Included in this was on an outline of sport throughout the year, as
well as detailed information regarding Term 1 and an online registration link. To allow us to plan for a great start to 2016 it is
really important that parents take the opportunity to do this by next Wednesday 2 December. For parents who more than one
son at ATC, there is a small glitch in the registration system. If you delete your browsing history and cookies, you will be able to
complete this survey for each of your sons. My thanks for your support with this.
Tuesday Trails - Thanks to everyone for a great run on Tuesday morning out to Fig tree Pocket, I am continually impressed
with every runners dedication and enthusiasm for running. Tuesday 1 December is our last official run for the year, please meet
either at ATC at 6.30am or at JC Slaughters Falls at Mount Coot-tha at 6.45am. Looking forward to a great Christmas run! Christ-
mas themed running attire is very welcome!
Basketball—Over the past 5 months our basketballers have been training hard and competing in the South West Metro Pirates
Basketball Competition. In our first year on the club scene in basketball our boys have achieved outstanding results with the
Under 15B side making semi finals and our Under 15A and 13A sides playing in their grand finals this weekend. My congratula-
tions to Mr John Dean and Mrs Fee Hannan for the hard work that they have put into the basketball program this year, the boys
have achieved fantastic results, have had a great time, developed strong friendships and have re-invigorated the sport of basket-
ball at ATC. Our sincere thanks also to Mrs Kaylene Perisinotto and Mrs Rebecca Seagg for their managerial work with the Un-
der 15 sides! If you are able to support the boys this weekend in their Grand Final, they would be very appreciative!

2015 Sporting Year— With the end of our sporting year approaching I would like to extend a very sincere thank you to our com-
munity for your support in our first year at ATC.
First and foremost, I would like to thank our boys for their enthusiasm, commitment, willingness to listen and learn, and for the
pride and passion that they have shown for themselves, their mates and their school. Time and again you have risen and con-
quered the challenges inherent in sport and your resilience, tenacity and enthusiasm is infectious. Congratulations and thanks
for a wonderful first year of ATC Sport.
To our families, I would like to thank you for your support, your generosity in time and spirit, your wonderful level of ‘buy-in’ to
the ATC sport philosophy and your understanding that sport is in fact a vehicle for great life lessons for our boys.
Finally, I would like to thank our staff whose passion and dedication to ATC make our program a reality. In particular, I would like
to thank and congratulate Mrs Fiona Kearney, Mr Paul Jones, Mr Brett Henschell, Mrs Fee Hannan, Mr Remo Buess, Mr David
Gardiner, Mr Brett Cashmere, Mr Bruce Dick and Mr Tim Walker for leading our ATC sporting programs. Life in a new school has
presented many challenges and this group of people in particular have facilitated a fantastic sporting program in 2016. My
thanks to our many teaching and support staff who coach, manage and coordinate sports and activities throughout the year
whilst going above and beyond their primary roles at the College. My thanks to our office staff including Mrs Rhonnie Sparks-
man, Mrs Glynis Galletly, Mrs Fiona Ryan, Mrs Janice Dowling, Mrs Darrylyn Edminstone, Mrs Alida O’Donaghue, Mr Pam Mans-
field and Mrs Carolyn Wilcox and to Wayne Green and our team of ground staff for their support of all things sport at the Col-
lege.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Best of luck to those who leave ATC at the end of the 2015 to continue their journey
elsewhere, we look forward crossing paths with you again in the near future. To those who are lucky enough to continue the
ATC journey, rest up, enjoy a very well earned break; 2016 beckons with more great opportunities for the students, families and
staff of ATC. Warriors go Brach!

SWIM MEETS
48 swimmers attended the West Brisbane Aquatics meet last Sunday. There was a very high percentage of PB’s
that were swum on the day. The swimmers also displayed a high degree of professionalism at the carnival. They are
starting to know the process of warm up, marshalling and checking in with Paul before and after each race.
Additionally they are all becoming a really great team showing support for one another and enjoying each other’s
company in between races. The photo here is evidence of the great swim club that Ambrose Treacy College is be-
coming.
STATE TITLES
Ambrose Treacy Swimming has 14 relay teams entered into the State Titles at Chandler on December 12, as well as

TRIATHLON
As the school year comes to an end it’s a perfect time to reflect on the season so far.
Firstly I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of the athletes. These boys have shown tremendous dedication to their training right
from the first training sessions of the season when it was still dark and cold at 6.00am. Their dedication has been rewarded with
the fantastic race efforts that we have seen from all of the squad over the past four months. These young athletes have repre-
sented the College proudly and shown their “Personal Best”
Racing has been an important part of program and our three targeted events have provided the boys opportunities to put their
fitness and triathlon skills into action. Our racing has been about fun as well as performance and I have been thrilled to see the
wide smiles of the boys as we took on the challenges of our targeted events.
Our squad training and racing was aimed to help the boys perform to their “Personal Best” at our key targeted event; The All
Schools Championships in early November. ATC was one of the largest school contingents represented at this event with 17
students competing and all squad members raced extremely well at this event where they had the opportunity to qualify to
selection into the Met West Triathlon & Aquathlon Teams.
Invitations for Met West Squad were finalised last week and I am pleased to announce that 8 ATC athletes have been invited to
join the Met West Squad and race at the Queensland State School Championships in Hervey Bay;
Pat Newell, Tom Kearney, Mitch Densley, Robert Stringer – Junior Triathlon
Joe Newell, Zac Beachy-Head, Euan Mcardle, Freddie Ayres – Primary Aquathlon
Hayden Melrose-Keyes and Luca Galluzzo have also been named as first reserves for the Junior and Intermediate triathlon re-
spectively and Zach Mcardle as 2nd reserve for the Primary Aquathlon.
A big thanks to all the parents who have gotten the boys to training at 6am many mornings and to the targeted events with all
gear needed to go racing. It has been nice to see parents and support crew enjoying our targeted races as well.
Next Targeted Event
Our next targeted event is the Queensland Gatorade Series Race at Raby Bay on the 6th December. Parents Information Sheet
for this event will be issued shortly.
Training will be on next Monday at 6 am at the pool for any of the boys keen to prepare for Raby Bay.
Training will be offered over the holiday break for the boys who have qualified for the Met West Team. More details to be pro-
vided to these families.

Many thanks to all our players and parents who supported ATC Volleyball this year. From humble begin-nings playing practice matches against GPS and AIC schools, we have come a long way, with our ATC 3 team securing a 3rd place at the Gap Invitational Volleyball Series. Well done to the following boys:
Tom Newell (captain)
Aaron Iulio
Tom Mulvihill
James Farquhar
Luc Vervetjes
Lachlan Wilkin
Emerson Treasure
I would like to extend a warm thank you to our coaching team of Dean Mayfield and Mr Mark Watson and all the parents who came out to support our young men at The Gap. Next year we look forward to a volley-ball calendar that includes our GPS/AIC ‘friendlies’ (Term 1), The Gap Invitational (Terms 2 & 4) and our debut in the QLD Volleyball Schools Cup (Early Term 4). Any student wishing to play some more volleyball over the holidays please look into the QLD Junior Pirates Camp http://www.vq.org.au/index.php?id=45. Have a happy Christmas and enjoy time with family and friends.
