2010 was a year of firsts for the Huffstutler family: We have lived in California all our lives but we had never been to Yosemite. >(Top) My daughter, Jourdan, me, and my husband, Troy, on our first hike in Yosemite on Spring Break, March 2010.

>(Middle & Bottom R) To celebrate my daughter's birthday we took her to Nevada for her first glider ride with a view cascading over the Tahoe National Forest. Since getting a taste of being in the sky, in November 2010 my husband and daughter went sky diving for the first time. They are both hooked and of course they would pick an expensive sport. >(Bottom L) To top off 2010, my daughter's college, San Francisco State University, Women's Soccer team captured the California Collegiate Athletic Associate championship, the first ever in the school's history for any sport. It was very exciting as the win automatically sent the team to Hawaii for the NCAA Division II championship. ~~ Lori Huffstutler, IT Production Support Analyst, 19 years, Rancho Cordova

I just started hiking a lot around the area - here are photos I've taken from my recent hikes this year. My goal for the month of March is to walk 300,000 steps (approximately 150 miles), and I'm on track to reaching that goal.

>(Above L) This is a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge I took on 3/27/11. I realized I had never walked across the bridge before in my life so decided now was as good a time as any.

>(Above R) This is a picture fo the American River around sunset that I took on 3/14/11. I was hiking as part of the Hikers and Company Meetup.com group I joined this year. >(R) This is a picture of the Folsom Dam taken on 3/22/11. I was hiking as part of the Sacramento Hiking Meetup.com group I joined this year.

I love travel. Last year I went to back to China to World Expo 2010 held in the city of Shanghai, China, from May 1 to October 31, 2010. It was a major World Expo in the tradition of international fairs and expositions, the first since 1992. The theme of the exposition was "Better City – Better Life." >(Top L to R, bottom L) Pavillions of Norway, Russian, South Korea. >(Botton R) The USA Pavilion's theme is "Rising to the Challenge." It tells the story of the American spirit of perseverance, innovation, and community-building in a multidimensional, hi-tech presentation. The Pavilion presents the U.S. as a place of opportunity and diversity where people come together to change their communities for the better. ~~ Jing Hu, WCOE Web Developer, 10 years, Rancho Cordova

The Old Town of Lijiang, (R & L)a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture, is a central town of the Lijiang Autonomous County of the Naxi Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan Province, China.

I love animals and love to travel with my daughter, Emily, who is now studying photography and art at UCSC.

> (Top L) This photo is of my cat, Kashmir - named for the Led Zeppelin song. He passed away last year after living nearly 21 years. My wife, Linda, would often give him short rapid kisses when she was feeling particularly affectionate torward him. Somehow he picked up on this and would often kiss back in a similar manner.

> (L) This photo is of the 2009 Station fire as seen from our bedroom window. The mother of firefighter Arnaldo Quinones killed fighting this blaze works with Linda.

> (Top R) Linda and I live in the Santa Monica Mountains and we enjoy hiking the trails near our home. This photo was taken on February 20, 2011, after the first big rain storm of the Winter. The snow level dropped low enough to cover the mountains on the north side of the valley (as seen in the photo). The view is looking out over Tarzana ~~ Steve Leski, IT Architect, 17 years, Woodland Hills

Here are some pictures of our road trip up north last Thanksgiving. > Here are my kids and me after a long trek on the Golden Gate Bridge on a cold windy day (Kalea-15, Erin-13 and Robert-8). >Here's a photo of wave-like sand dunes on the coast covered with vibrant and coloful plants. >If you have never seen 5,000-pound animals bathing on the beach, here's how they look. Hundreds of elephant seals lined up basking in the sun on Piedras Blancas Beach -- such an amazing sight! Our kids were in awe and didn't want to leave, in spite of the harsh wind and cold weather. >Beautiful Monarch Butterflies were migrating to Big Sur. >Specular aquamarine water in Monterey Bay. A very peaceful scene. >Piano is my favorite pastime these days...I enjoy branching out from classical to jazz and blues. ~~ Virginia Power, ITG Client Executive, 5 years, Woodland Hills

>Touring the Tell Beit Shean (Beth Shean) in Israel with my husband, Alex, in Oct. 2005. This is major Biblical city 17 miles from the sea of Galilee, and one of the world’s largest archaeological sites containing an entire Hellenistic, Roman-Byzantine city of Scythopolis. Established in the 5th century B.C. in the center of crossroads between the Jordan valley and the Jezreel (Yizreel) valley, this town was destroyed by an earthquake in 749 AD and abandoned leaving the ruins somewhat intact. The fertility of the land and the abundance of water led the Jewish sages to say, "If the Garden of Eden is in the land of Israel, then its gate is Beth Shean." It is no surprise then that the site has been almost continuously settled from the Chalcolithic period to the present. > A day of fun and excitement for team and adventurers in the Judean desert. It was a corporate event for IT division organized by DSPG company that I used to work for back in 2005. > Visiting my native Odessa, Ukraine in Oct 2005, where I sat with the statue of a famous singer from Odessa, Leonid Osipovich Utyosov or Utesov (Russian: ); (21 March [1895, Odessa – 1982, Moscow). He was a famous Soviet jazz singer and comic actor of Jewish origin, who became the first pop singer to be awarded the prestigious title of People's Artist of the USSR (1965).
