Many parents continue to apply balm on their baby’s abdomen, head, chest, or nose, thinking that it will treat bloating stomach, nasal congestion (blocking nose), or help better the baby’s intestines. But according to pediatricians, applying balm to any part of the baby or child’s body is a mistake that is uncautiously made by parents. Dr. Van Sokchea, a pediatrician at the Maxicare Clinic, said that the balm is made of Menthol, Camphor, and Eucalyptus, all of which can affect both infants and young children. He added that the baby’s and children’s skin is a sensitive type of skin, and easily absorb the substance on their skin; therefore, if we overused, it can cause some side effects to the children such as seizures, tiredness, fatigue, abnormal muscle contraction, neurological impairment, or vomiting, etc. He specifically added that the parents must not apply balm on the infant’s skull because it would affect the child’s brain.

    February Highlight of Peth Yoeung

In February, 4 private clinics have signed an MOU with “Peth Yoeung” to install and use Peth Yoeung Cloud-based Hospital Management System so that every operation in the clinics is done digitally, while every data is safely stored.

First of all, on the first week of February, we have gotten two dental clinics on board with us on using the Peth Yoeung System, and those are Pka chhouk Dental Clinic and Lao Sonly Dental Cosmetic. Pka Chhouk Dental Clinic is located near Derm Kor Market, Sangkat Phsar Derm Kor, Khan Toul Kok, Phnom Penh. Next, during the same period, the Lao Sonly Dental Cosmetic also finally decided to use Peth Yoeung System. If you want to find it, it is located near Preah Ang Doung Hospital, Preah Ang Doung Street, Sangkat Phsar Chas, Khan Doun Penh, Phnom Penh.

Sometime during the second week of February, Nhok Leng Cabinet signed an

MOU to use Peth Yoeung System too. Nhok Leng is a consulting room that consult the patients but do not admit them. Moreover, besides consulting general illness, the Nhok Leng Cabinet specialized in dermatology that treat skin conditions too.

Located on the Street 182, Sangkat Tek Laek 3, Khan Toul Kok, Phnom Penh, there is another clinic that has just decided to use Peth Yoeung Cloud Hospital Management System, and that is Phnom Penh Pediatric Clinic. This clinic specializes in children’s health and treatment.

With these clinics on board, we are very excited, and ready to provided unconditional support to them.

A spokesman and business operation advisor of “Peth Yoeung”, Mr. Bin Socheat said that the Cloud-based Hospital

Management System “Peth Yoeung” will not only help reduce the workload of the hospital staff but will also make them work faster and more convenient, helping more patients. It will also reduce the hospital expense by limiting unnecessary printing and the use of paper.

Peth Yoeung is a cloud-based hospital operating system that helps every level of public and private hospitals and clinics to operate digitally using new technology, so every document and patient’s records are safely stored in Cloud; easy to track and find later.

Until recently, “Peth Yoeung” System is fully installed in over 120 private and public hospitals and clinics across Cambodia.

“ We must not apply balm on the infant under the age of two. For the children over the age of two, we can use the balm sometimes, but the amount must be limited,” said Dr. Van Sochea.

He explained that children actually do not need the balm to heal a bloading stomuch or diarrhea. If the baby or children has nasal congestion or a bloating stomuch, the parents should use the spay to release blocked noses or medicine prescribe by the doctor instead.

    February at a Glance

Peth Yoeung team have been to some provincial hospitals across Cambodia to present Peth Yoeung and discuss about possible installation of Peth Yoeung system to the provincial hospital in Siem Reap, Battambang and Kampong Cham Province.

Nowadays, the outbreak of Covid-19 has been all over the world. Therefore, everyone must be careful so that they could prevent themselves from getting the Covid-19 during this time period. Every organization from public to private institutions should do the following:

    1. When greeting each other, everyone should Sampeah, the Cambodian way of greeting each other, rather than doing the handshake.

    2. Remind everyone (your staff and clients) to clean their hand with soap and clean water, or rub their hand with alcohol hand sanitizer regularly, especially when their hand is dirty, after cough or sneeze, before, during, and after meal preparation, before eating, after leaving the bathroom, or after a direct contact with animal or animal’s waste. 3. Please arrange a bottle or two of alcohol hand sanitizer at your office, and also a suitable area where everyone

could clean their hand with soap and clean water.

    4. Check the health of your staff and your clients’, who come to receive your service daily. If there is anyone with health issues such as high fever, running nose, sore throat, cough, sneeze, heavy breathing, you must encourage them to go to the hospital to do the health checkup, and allow your staff to take a leave and rest at home.

    5. If there is any staff or clients who has just arrived from abroad, or travel, work, or have a direct contact with people who have Covid-19 during 14 days, who have symptom such as high fever, cough, sneeze, running nose, sore throat, heavy breathing, you must contact 115 immediately.

    6. Tell your staff or customer to cover their mouth whenever they cough or sneeze, to cover their nose with towels, Krama, tissue or their elbow. They must throw

their tissue away immediately and wash their hand.

    7. If you are talking to anyone with symptoms like high fever, cough, sneeze, running nose, sore throat, heavy breathing, you must keep your distant of 1.5 meter from that person.

These are some ways to prevent yourself from getting the Coronavirus infection. We hope that everyone stays safe during this time period.
