It is the mission of First Baptist Church to worship and honor GOD with all our being and equip ourselves with the word of GOD, not
only to better serve our church, but to reach out to our community, state, nation, and throughout the world with the message of CHRIST.

Notes from Jeff It’s so exciting to see God continue to
give us decisions if our fellowship.
Also to see the Lord continue to bring
guests into our fellowship. Who do
you know that needs to know Jesus?
Who are you around that needs a
church home and family? Maybe God
placed these people in your paths so
that you could have an impact on
their lives! A recent poll asked church
goers, “How many people have you
invited to church in the past 6
months?” One third of the responses
answered, “No one.” One third!!!
You know, I think First Baptist Church
is a pretty wonderful place. I believe
that God is at work here. That lives
are being changed here. That
individuals are being discipled here.
That healthy relationships are being
formed here. Why in the world would
you not want others to be a part of
those things?!? Don’t be the “one
third!” Make a commitment right now
to invite someone to come to church
with you. Tell them you will call them
that morning, pick them up, whatever
it takes. Instead of sitting and
watching what God is doing, let’s
allow Him to use us in His work.
Our Valentine Dessert Theatre was
an incredible evening! What a crowd!
Over 150. It takes so many people to
bring a night like that together from
food preparation to decoration, to set
up and clean up and even more; so
thanks to all who had a part. Thank
you students for sharing a program
that allowed us to laugh and think
and worship. Big thank you church
for the offering! It was the largest
offering we have ever taken by a long
shot! Know that every penny goes to
students to help them mature and
grow and serve.
Please be in prayer for our students
this month as we go on Breakaway
2020. We are taking a huge group
and I am excited about what God
has planned but your prayers are
essential! Please lift these students
up!
We now have 6 guitar students taking
guitar lessons with room for maybe
one more. How about it? Interested?
Or know someone who is?
Church Choir...Did you enjoy your
summer break during mid winter?!?
Wow. I can’t remember ever missing
that many weeks in a row. It’s gonna
make preparing for Easter even
more urgent. Make every effort to be
faithful to rehearsal times during the
coming couple of months, not only as
we prepare for each Sunday, but also
for Holy Week and Easter Sunday.
Youth Choir...Really nice job on
“You Are Beloved” at the Dessert
Theatre! Thank you for sharing and
let’s get ready to sing again on
Sunday morning in a month or so.
Kings Kids...So good to hear you all
sing this month! Great job sharing
“Oh How I Love Jesus!” Thanks for
singing and we look forward to
hearing y'all again soon! Be in your
rehearsals as you begin to prepare
for your spring musical.

Please continue to pray for VBS and where God would have you serve. There’s a place for everyone!
We will have numerous needs to add later, but the first couple on our list is Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes (we will not need lights) and green plants of all kinds. We will use these for our scenic train ride through the mountains.
If you have items we can borrow, please contact Stephanie or Aften and let them know.

Tot Tracts Early Learning Center News by Mrs. Jennifer
I can’t believe it is already March! The school year will be ending before we know it. In only three short months, we will be welcoming the summer break and activities. It seems that the school year just started, and I walked into my classroom full of sweet, eager to learn preschoolers. I have enjoyed watching them grow so much. They are reading, writing, counting, recognizing numbers, and so much more. It is so much fun to see them putting letter sounds together, reading words, and even sentences. This is the most fun age to me. So much can be poured into their little minds. As many of you know, Mrs. Debbie Colburn and Mrs. Gina McKay, our 2 and 3 year old teachers, have been facing some health conditions. Praise the Lord, Gina has received clear margins from the masses that were removed from her breast. She will now begin radiation treatments. It was found out that Mrs. Debbie has a large mass on her kidney, and a few other places that have shown up in other areas. They are going to do surgery to remove the kidney, and we are still waiting on further information as to what will be done from there. Gina is still able to work, but Debbie has been advised to remain at home until everything is taken care of. Praise the Lord, I have two very good and dependable subs to fill in the gaps until all of this is taken care of. It is our prayer that they both have successful outcomes, and can be back going strong very soon. Please continue to pray for these ladies as they go thru these
procedures, and for the ELC as we work together to carry one another’s burdens. We had a busy February. We made Valentine crafts and had a Valentine’s Day party. The 3 and 4 year olds went to the nursing home to sing. The month of March, we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday with green eggs and ham, taking spring pictures, and Dr. Land’s office will be coming to talk to the kids about caring for their teeth. Thank you parents, teachers, staff, and church members for working with the ELC, and allowing us this opportunity to work with some of the greatest kids in the world. Please keep us in your daily prayers as we work in their lives each day. It is our greatest responsibility to see to the safety of each child, teach them the things they need to learn, and lead them to know Jesus as their Savior. May the FBC ELC be the shining light in this community that it needs to be.

MARCH 2020 HI-LITES
calling some of you by your football name for months! We are less than a month away from Breakaway! We are taking the largest group we have ever taken! We are gonna have the most incredible week! Can’t wait to share it with you. Remember that I need your balance and your med form by Sunday, March 15th.
It’s also time to get those deposits ($50) in for summer mission Fuge! Once again the dates are June 21st-27th and we are
heading to minister in Virginia. We are beginning a new study called “Pause” in DU on Sunday nights so grab your Bible and be here as we learn how to better spend time with the Father!
Thanks to Chad & Molly Wheeler for taking a group to Winter JAM 2020. I heard it was a great worship time and experience! So glad y'all got to go. Turkey Bowl was its usual insanity. In the Turkey Bowl game the Ibuprofens defeated the Fire 56-49 in a hard fought game. Ella had the punt of the day and we are glad she didn’t knock PGosa out. Then a great time of pizza, sardines and super bowl at the Hankins. Thanks to Pat Gosa & Brent Egger for spending the time with us, to Heather Cockerham for making the extended time pizza run, and to the Hankins for opening their home to this group! Leave it all on the field! Students, you helped our church to have a great evening at this years VDT Theatre! It was a packed house and I hope you enjoyed sponsoring the event. Make sure you thank your church for supporting you with their attendance and their offering! I will be
