PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Generation plant :

The Barbara Aval project takes advantage of the water of Zakkai river and Zoutina

dam. The water stored in the dam is pumped by a canal until the intake in Zakkai

river. From this point, a canal allows a connection between the intake and an

accumulation dam. The water arrives to the power house through a penstock. This

house is equipped with two Francis turbines.

The water intake is located on the Huaura river, where the captured water goes

through a sand trap to avoid the entrance of solid particles. Its conductions are

divided into three sections. The first and the second one consist of a 100 m of

waterway and a 3156 m of tunnel. The last section it is another waterway but this

time it is 200 m long that arrives at a forebay. From the forebay to the power house,

the water is directed through a 350 m of penstock. The water that arrived at the

power house is turbinated by two Pelton turbines.

Scope :

Due Diligence.
