Fashion and Variety Show just keeps getting better and better
The 7th St John’s Fashion and Variety Show opened to a capacity crowd on Thursday 6th
December with a record sell-out of 350 tickets in 1 & 1/2 days. For one night only the talented
pupils across the year groups entertained the audience with a packed show of fashion, singing,
dancing and comedy acts. The show was opened by Ms Ann Marie Clare-kelly and the Year 12 boys
performing the latest dance craze “Gangnam style” which went down a real treat with the audience.
The first half as always featured the Year 12 boys and girls in their formal wear.
The girls glittered in their gowns, escorted down the catwalk by the boys in their tuxs, as proud
parents looked on. Year 12 students finished with a waltz which was spectacular. Year 8 pupils
had designed and made their own futuristic dresses with the help of Miss Beattie. They adorned
the catwalk with a group of smartly dressed Year 8 boys. The audience were treated to a scene
from Mary Poppins performed by Year 8, 11 & 13 students. Megan McBrearty thrilled the crowd
with her performance of “Does Your Mother Know” taken from the hit show “Mam ma Mia”. Next to
adorn the stage was Shannon Barrett, Alannah Quinn, Conor McGurren, Clare McCann and Cahir
McGovern who amazed the crowd with their rendition of a selection of country songs. A highly
entertaining scene from “The Two Ronnies” by Darren McCusker & Conor McGurren ended the
highly successful first half.
The second half started with a performance from “Wiiversity” performed by Year 8 & 9.
Cahir McGovern, Cillian McGoldrick and Tomas Quinn from the “Whistling Donkeys” thrilled the
crowd with their performances on the banjos. An entertaining version of “All the single ladies” was
carried out by Year 12 & Year 13 boys!!. Other performances in the second half were a selection of
Irish dances by Deirbhla McNulty and Alanna Quinn, with Shauna Dillon & Clodagh McNulty.
The traditional group played a selection of songs followed by school choir, accompanied by Noreen
McGuiness whose solo performance was outstanding. This was followed by a rousing performance of
“St John’s Midgets” by staff from the school.

St John’s Business & Enterprise College
Formal 2012 The Annual Formal took place in Mahon’s Hotel on Wednesday 5th December 2012. Thankfully the cold
weather conditions stayed away this year and everyone arrived on time, safe and well. The girls looked
beautiful, the boys handsome and a great night was had by all. Gerry McGread, Mickey Donnelly and Jimmy
McCloughan provided the disco and the students contributed some highly entertaining acts. The crowned King
this year was Darren McCusker (Dromore) and crowned Queen was Kirby Mullan (Fintona).

CHRISTMAS FAIR 2012
The 2012 Christmas Fair was another huge success for St. John’s and its students. The pupils in the school developed various products, all of which proved to be popular with visiting members of the community. Students sold plants, stunning floral arrangements and Christmas candles. We also had a very successful home baking stand to which parents had donated items. Thanks to all the students and staff who assisted with the running of these events and especially all the parents and members of the community who supported the event on the day.
TRIP TO MANCHESTER
On Wednesday 28th November, 50 students accompanied by Mr McCarron, Mr Ball, Miss Doherty, Jimmy &
Martina travelled to see Manchester United play West Ham Utd. Everyone really enjoyed the match
especially when Man U won 1-0. From the photos below you will see a great time was had by all on the trip.
