These will be sent home next week, prior to interviews the following week. The new on-line booking system for interview appointments is working quite well, according to most people I have spoken with. Some people have had difficulty and have contacted us for assistance which has happily been provided. I urge you to make your interview booking now if you have not done so. STUDENT ROAD SAFETY The behaviour of a minority of our community, when driving near our school, continues to be very dangerous and irresponsible. This is a source of great concern and worry to myself, staff and members of our community as some behaviour is extremely dangerous and is seriously threatening the safety of our children. This morning there was another serious incident in Huon Crescent. This involved a motorist, who is a member of our school community, overtaking a long line of cars stopped at the pedestrian crossing, stopping very close to Donna, our Crossing Supervisor, to then pull into the “Kiss and Drop Zone”. This is incredibly dangerous behaviour and I have reported the incident to the police along with an urgent request for immediate and frequent police patrols. In addition, a minority of parents/carers have been accessing the school car parks without permission. Also, some are walking across the car parks without permission. Also, some are walking across the car parks with children rather than use the pedestrian gates right next to the car parks. Again, this is extremely dangerous behaviour which has lead to some incidents recently where children have very nearly been hit. I realise parking is very restricted around the school but there is nothing that can be done about that. Running late for school/work/an appointment etc.is absolutely no excuse for lazy behaviour which endangers our children. I ask parents/carers to think about how you would feel if your lazy/careless behaviour caused the death or injury of a child! May I ask members of the community to report incidents of dangerous behaviour to me so I can report to the police and/or to report the matter directly to Liverpool Police on 9765 9499.
