TEMPTATION
Lent is a period of renewal and a time of reconciliation. During the period of Lent, the Holy
Mother the Church sets aside the most important themes for our reflection. Today the Church
invites us to reflect on temptation. The first reading tells us of the unfaithful man who lets himself
to be seduced by the devil and chooses to rebel against God’s will. This man destroys his own
self and condemns himself to a perpetual unhappiness.
The second reading describes the disobedience and the behavior of the first man, Adam, in contrast
with that of the second man, Jesus, who is the obedient Son of the Father. The Gospel describes
the temptations that Jesus had to face in his mission of salvation, and it wants us to reflect on our
own temptations which are not much different from that of Jesus.

TENTACIÓN
La Cuaresma es un período de renovación y un tiempo de reconciliación. Durante el período de
Cuaresma, la Santa Madre Iglesia deja de lado los temas más importantes para nuestra reflexión.
Hoy la Iglesia nos invita a reflexionar sobre la tentación. La primera lectura nos habla del hombre
infiel que se deja seducir por el diablo y elige rebelarse contra la voluntad de Dios. Este hombre
destruye su propio yo y se condena a sí mismo a una infelicidad perpetua.
La segunda lectura describe la desobediencia y el comportamiento del primer hombre, Adán, en
contraste con el del segundo hombre, Jesús, que es el Hijo obediente del Padre. El Evangelio
describe las tentaciones que Jesús tuvo que afrontar en su misión de salvación, y quiere que
reflexionemos sobre nuestras propias tentaciones que no son muy diferentes de las de Jesús.

This Week’s Lenten Mass Schedule
THURSDAY (March 5) - Mass at 7:00 a.m. - Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament begins after Mass and closes Sacrament at 7:00 p.m. FRIDAY (March 6) - Catholics may NOT EAT MEAT on all Fridays of Lent. Stations of the Cross begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by Mass (All Fridays of Lent) Please know that it is very important to attend the Stations of the Cross. “Disciples on the Journey” groups meet throughout the week at designated times.

All forms are due Friday, March 20, 2020 2020 Rocky Mountain High Retreat: This unique, weeklong retreat, in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in Southern Colorado, is an opportunity for high school age young people to take time away from their daily routine. They will experience the wonder and grandeur of the great outdoors spending time reflecting on important issues of life, faith, family, and friends. A trained staff of qualified adults, from throughout the diocese, offers caring relationships to assist our youth on their journey. Small group discussions, presentations on key topics, unique prayer and liturgical experiences, plus a wild and crazy rafting trip on the Animas River in Durango,help make this an unforgettable week.
There will be a raffle before each mass starting this weekend to help with expenses for the following retreatants: Mara Triplett, Blake Jedlicka, Kerri Araguz, Samuel Coker, Dallas Novicke, Jonah Kubena, Emma Potts, Jonathan Anders, Jacob Kulcak, & Katelyn Bartlett. Please keep these students in prayer as they prepare for this spectacular retreat!
