Please notify the church office in advance
of a surgery or scheduled hospital stay so
that you may receive the Sacrament of
Anointing. The Church has always prayed
for the sick to be freed from pain and
restored to health. This sacrament originated in the
healing ministry of Jesus. An anointing may be
scheduled before or after a Mass or during the week.
Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima
As a special opportunity for family prayer
and devotion, a pilgrim statue of Our Lady
of Fatima has been made available in our
parish. You may welcome the statue into your home for
a week by signing up in the Gathering Area or by calling
the church office at 330-722-6633.
Blood pressure screening is a service
that is offered by our Wellness Ministry
to parishioners the first Sunday of each
month. We invite you to participate in the
blood pressure screenings this Sunday,
May 7th from 10:30 - 11:30 am in the choir room.

A Note from the Pastor…
ROAD REPAIRS ON OLD WEYMOUTH ROAD
If you’ve been near our church lately, you’ve seen
signs posted on Old Weymouth Road in front of
Holy Martyrs announcing road work and a street
closure. Here is what you should know:
Beginning last week, a portion of County Road
32, Old Weymouth Road, will be closed for a
bridge replacement until July 19, 2017.
The bridge being replaced is 1.25 miles from
Holy Martyrs, at the western end of Old
Weymouth Rd. Traffic into and out of our
church and our parking lots will not be
affected.
The project also will not affect those who
access Old Weymouth Rd. from Remsen,
Nichols, Tompkins, Cook, or Church Streets
to come to church.
For those affected, detour signs have been
posted and Hail Marys will be said.
Your patience and understanding during this time
is appreciated.

OFFICE OF CATHECHETICAL SERVICES COLLECTION
Each year in the Diocese of Cleveland a special
collection is taken up in all the parishes to support the
Catechetical ministries of the Office of Catechetical
Formation & Education. Funding from this collection
supports Newman Campus Ministry, Adult Faith
Formation, Media Literacy, Parish Catechetical Leader-
ship training and Catechist Certification. This year the
collection will be May 13-14, 2017. A contribution to
the Catechetical Ministries is an investment in the faith
formation and religious education of every person of
every age in the Diocese. Please consider giving a gift
to this very special collection.

50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration – Reservations are now being accepted
The tradition of celebrating the 50th anniversary of married Catholic couples throughout the Diocese of Cleveland will
continue at the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
Reservations are now being accepted to attend this special liturgy. The deadline to include the names of couples in the
wedding anniversary program is Monday, June 19, 2017. Since seating within Saint John’s Cathedral is limited, the number
of guests that a couple may bring has yet to be determined and will be based on the total number of couples that register.

Archbishop Hoban Summer Camps
Archbishop Hoban High School, 1 Holy Cross Blvd. in Akron, will hold summer camps during the months of June and July.
