Call Your Ancestors, 2017 2 Arts in Parks 2018

The Arts in Parks program supports new and established community festivals, art happenings and music concerts that enliven Seattle parks by promoting arts and culture, celebrating diversity, building community connections and energizing parks while connecting with underserved communities.

Seattle is a vibrant city, and this is reflected through the distinctive art that can be found throughout our parks. The Arts in Parks program is an invaluable initiative that increases community access to art and builds upon Seattle Parks and Recreation’s commitment to strong communities. This program brings our parks to life with local art pieces and cultural events that engage community members, while highlighting each neighborhood’s unique character. Art that embraces and celebrates diversity strengthens our community, and we are excited to partner once again with local artists, neighborhood councils and community-based groups for this year’s Arts in Parks projects!

Christopher Williams, Interim Superintendent, Seattle Parks and Recreation

Arts activities in parks provide the community with opportunities to create spaces that promote a resilient, inventive, generous city. I’m proud to present a roster of programming that represents our city and the people we serve.

Randy Engstrom, Director, Office of Arts & Culture

All events are free and open to the public. Dates may be subject to change. Please contact the event coordinator for the most current information.
