Facts:• Number of places: approx. 545• Average duration of stay: 166 days• Approx. 1/3 remain in shelter less than 30 days

NIGHT CAFÉS
Purpose: To give citizens who do not visit shelters and who does not have orcannot stay in a home of their own, a roof over their heads for the night. Guidance function, if the citizen desires this.

STREET OUTREACH WORK
Purpose: To create possibilities and understanding for outcastcitizens, so that they can makeuse of and benefit from the system's offers.

THE SOCIAL WORK ASPECT
Task: To establish contact with and create possibilitiesfor citizens who remain on the street more thantransiently and seem to need help.

THE MEDICAL ASPECT
Task: To offer medical help on the street to homeless people who cannot gettheir medical problems treated through the ordinary general practice system.
Methods:• Close co-operation with social workers, refuges, night cafés and other
relevant players, to create a co-ordinated effort• Build up and enhance close working relations with the health sector and
social workers• Provide emergency treatment, e.g. treatment of substance abuse and
the consequences of substance abuse• Outreach towards the target group

HEALTH ROOM
Purpose: • To increase efforts to help drug addicts in the area• To make the area more peaceful, safe and clean for
residents
