HORTICULTURE SCIENCE PROGRAMS laying the groundwork for satisfying careers www.bhc.edu East Campus 26230 Black Hawk Road Galva, IL 61434 Black Hawk College offers programs in Horticulture Science to meet every student’s interest and need, whether a class or two with the goal to gain knowledge in an area of interest, a one year certificate, two year AAS degree, or preparation for university transfer. Diverse vocational opportunities in areas such as nursery and greenhouse management, grounds keeping, landscape design, turf and golf course management, lawn care service, natural resource management, and market farming are but a few examples of career fields related to horticulture. Courses and laboratory exercises provide technical knowledge and hands on experience laying the groundwork for satisfying careers in the field, while instructors work directly with students to assist in identifying their area of concentration and prospective employment upon program completion.
