How did Humans directly impact their environment?

Introduction • Hello, and welcome in the following slide

show you will learn FACTS about how humans directly impacted their environment. Some facts that might be to intense for some for some kids under 13 years of age.

After the Glacier Age

• Storms• To much water/flooding• Glaciers are melting and breaking parts of

boats

Early Man

• Creation of fire- • Early humans needed to move to other areas

in order to survive• People today learn about the past from fossils

and artifacts left behind.• Used stone tools to use in their environment.• Cave art

Early Farmers

• Early farmers produced irrigation ditches• They cleared to the trees and set fire to clear

all the land also called slash and burn farming• Domesticated animals• They made terraces

Mesopotamia

• Irrigation• Building ziggurats• Building city-states• Melted bronze and tin which polluted the air

Egypt

• Drying out bodies (naturally) – this is the process where Egyptians digged holes and put a body in laying down on their elbows and knees and cover up so they will dry out with sand.

• Making Papyrus- this substance is like paper and that means they cut down trees to get it.

Greece

• People did not settle in Greece for a long time- no fresh water, lots of mountains, and non fertile soil.

• Lot of water for trade• They have good sea coast they use for trade• They placed the Olympics naked. That means

they probably peed outside which cause non-fertile soil.

Rome

• Low coast flight• Rome Italia• Rome city

Conclusion

• So things have changed a lot since then.
