How to apply
Five easy steps to apply
1. Check out the assignments on our assignments page. Assignments are advertised on the 1st of each month,
with applications closing on the 21st of the same month. Each month there are new assignments available for
application.
2. Choose an assignment that matches your skills and experience. You can apply for as many assignments as
you would like to.
3. Click the 'Apply' button shown on the Assignment Description page for each assignment, while assignments
are open.
4. Complete a full application for each assignment.
5. Submit your application.
Allow enough time to submit a quality application
Applying for the AVID program involves a number of different steps. You are encouraged to allow a significant
amount of time (approximately 20 hours) to compile the different documentation you are required to submit.

How are volunteers selected?
Scope Global's Volunteer Unit has a staged selection process, which is based on merit and works within the
parameters of the Australian Equal Opportunities Act. Scope Global reserves the right to withdraw a volunteer
assignment at any stage throughout the assignment, selection, or pre-departure preparation process.

Stage 1 - Assignments advertised—
Assignments will generally be advertised online for three weeks from the 1st of each month until the 21st at 5:30pmEST (Canberra time). All applicants are required to complete and submit an online application detailing personalinformation, work history, and responding to the selection criteria. It is important to select assignments for which you arequalified and can demonstrate relevant skills and experience. Similarly, consider the Host Organisation you are applyingfor and whether your values align, as well as the location in which the assignment will be based.
