Learn the Basics of CANVA

What is CANVA?Canva makes graphic design amazingly simple for everyone.

It brings together a drag and drop design tool with a library of more than 1 million stock photographs, graphic elements and fonts.

Select your browser.

For this tutorial well use Google Chrome.

Key in www.canva.com at the search tab.

Then it will lead you to the dashboard of CANVA.

You have 3 options to sign-up to CANVA.

Facebook

Google

or Email.

For this tutorial well use Google to sign-up.Point the cursor to GOOGLE then click your mouse.

If you have an existing Gmail account it will lead you to this screen.

If you dont want to use the email seen on the prompt, you can always add an account,

Then fill out the information needed.

or rather remove all that was saved.

Just click on the X part of the box seen on the screen you want to remove.

For this, well choose the existing email on file.

It will prompt you to encode your password here.

which will look like this.

Sign-in to the account of choice.

The software will ask permission to basically access your account.

Choose depending on your option.

For this tutorial lets choose Personal.

CONGRATULATIONS! You just signed up to CANVA.

Your CANVA account now looks like this.

Now lets start working!

Now you can start creating your own designs.Lets play with CANVA!

For beginners it will lead you to 2 quick tutorials provided by the software.

Begin the step by step process in becoming a design pro in minutes.

Follow the directions as advised.

Click on the circle and select the upper right box to change color.

Work on adding objects on the picture.

Select from the images searched then drag to the picture.

Your screen will then look like this.

Lets now learn to change background.

To change background, select the BACKGROUND icon from the left side of the page and click on your color.

Now, lets add image to a frame.

Double click on the frame and it will look like this.

Select the picture of your choice from the search tab. This will be the picture for this sample.

Drag the picture to the frame and it will look like this.

Now lets start your own designs!

Here is your main page.

Select on what type of graphic design you would like to create. Select from the options here.

Lets start creating a card.

This is your canvas area, where you edit your image.

This are your editing tools.

Search tool is where you search pictures needed for your design.

Layouts tool gives you a selection of numerous layout options to choose from.

Elements tool lets you choose from pre-made photos to add on your design.

Text tool allows you to find formatted and text styles to use.

You can change your background by choosing from this tab.

Upload your own image by selecting this tab.

Think of the theme of your card. Choose from the following template options.

As a sample I selected this template.

The screen will now look like this.

Lets now work on changing the text.

Double click on the text and it will look like this.See the box?

Override the text with the message you want to see on the card.I wrote on the sample,I MISS THE BEACH.

ADD photos using elements.

THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM THE ELEMENTS SELECTION.

ILL CREATE ONE FROM THE FREE PHOTOS.

SINCE the TOPIC IS BEACH, I SEARCHED FOR A BEACH PHOTO ON IT.

YOUR PICTURE WILL LOOK LIKE THIS.

Carefully layout your image to your text.

MAXIMIZE YOUR EDITS USING THIS OPTIONS.

To edit your text, highlight and work on this.

My EDITS RESULTED TO THIS IMAGE.

Make sure to make your own design title here.

If the image is done, go ahead and download!

Select from the following, for this sample, Ill choose high quality image.

The image can be saved on your desktop or share it at your social media accounts.
