Safer Recruitment

Full Course

Every maintained school must ensure that at least one member of its appointment panel has completed Safer Recruitment training. This training is also highly recommended for other education settings including academies, free schools and independent schools. It is delivered by trainers accredited by the National College.

The full course is for delegates that have not previously completed either the face-to-face or online safer recruitment training (or feel that they need a more comprehensive update than the Safer Recruitment Refresher Training on page 5).

What will I learn? This one-day course looks at best practice that should be adopted when recruiting and selecting adults to work with children in schools. It sets out procedures and strategies to help those involved in the recruitment process to deter, identify and reject applicants who are unsuitable to work with children. It also seeks to strengthen safeguards for children in schools by helping to deter and prevent abuse, with the aim of creating an environment where concerns can be raised on poor or unsafe practice.

Delegates will complete a short written assessment at the end of the session to confirm they have successfully completed the course.

Venue Date Time West Hartford Wednesday 17 April 2013 9.00am-5.00pm

Please e-mail [email protected] to make a booking no later than Tuesday 12 March.

This course is FREE for schools that subscribe to either the HR SLA for Maintained Schools or the HR Service Contract for Academies. Price for non-subscribers: £150 per delegate (plus VAT for academies). Please see our terms and conditions for further information about charges for cancellations.
