Dear Families and Friends
We hope that everyone had a wonderful day on Sunday and was able to make
contact with loved ones. It has been a really happy week at HRCS, with
everyone so excited to see many of our friends return to school.
Phase 1 Return: It was wonderful to see many of our students return
for their scheduled transition back to school this week. Everyone settled in
really well, and all seemed to be excited to be back in their regular classroom
with their friends.
Thank you to Brendan for
drawing our raffle
Phase 1 will continue next week, with the same schedule of transition to be followed. On the Premier’s
announcement, we will move into the next phase of return to school. Details will be sent home next week.
I know that this is a very confusing time for everyone, and that some of our young people need to be at
school for more than the one day, so please do not hesitate to contact the school to discuss you situation.
Zones of Regulation: Our core business is finding ways to assist our students develop
self- regulation skills. Over the past 12 months, we have been introducing the Zones of Regulation
program, which provides students with a visual tool to identify where they are sitting in the zones. The
program is proving to be very popular with some of our students, who will spontaneously move their
picture to the relevant zone. I have attached a Zones of Regulation Sheet for you to at home.
Greenthumb Industries: Our agriculturists have been extremely busy in the Ag plot this week.
They have enjoyed harvesting some of their produce this week, and are currently filling their orders for
“Herb Friday” and are packaging up the baby chat potatoes that they harvested earlier in the week. An
important component of the program is theory based, and students have enjoyed tallying the orders and
working out their income margins!
This week the crew have also cut back the chrysanthemums and have planted the succulents that have
been generously donated. Great work everyone!
Uniform labelling: We are fortunate to still be experiencing some beautiful autumn days after
some chilly mornings. As children are often removing layers of clothing during the day, it is important that
all clothing items are clearly labelled with student’s names. This assists staff when children are removing
their jumpers.
Student Wellbeing: The wellbeing of all of our school community is extremely important to us.
With some students still engaging in remote learning, it is essential that we remain in contact and
connected. Teachers have been making contact with families to check in, and to see the best way we can
support them during the Learning from Home period and during the transition back to school. During
these unprecedented times, it is essential that school closely follow all wellbeing policies to ensure that the
link between school and home is maintained. If your child has not returned during the week, and you have
not been contacted by your child’s class teacher or are not engaging with the SeeSaw app, please contact
the school at your earliest convenience to discuss a transition back to school. We are here to support you!
PBL: There were lots of smiles and happy faces on Tuesday when our PBL mascot and friend
Leuca came to visit. During Leuca’s visit he greeted students as they arrived at school and demonstrated
how to use the hand sanitiser. We hope that Leuca will visit us every Tuesday and he will be attending our
milestone PBL assemblies. Great to see you Leuca!
We hope that everyone has a wonderful week and enjoys the lifting of some of the restrictions. Stay safe
and healthy! Thank you for your ongoing support in this matter. Kind Regards - Tracey

Brief Description of your role for 2020
and what you like about it
I’m teaching in Room 4 (Gazelle) with Years 2,4, 6 & 7
students. I like supporting students in developing the skills
necessary for them to lead happy & healthy lives both now &
in their futures. I love working with Cassie (SLSO) in the
class because she is very efficient & makes me laugh with
her ‘put on’ America accent. I enjoy HRCS’s pleasant
environment & especially the great cooking that takes place.
Interesting Facts I have 2 children & 5 grandchildren. I received a Teacher of
the Year Award for the London Borough of Bexley in 2007. I
love how technology can be used to is everyday life & how it
can enhance children’s learning.

Green Thumb Industries
Our Greenthumb Industries crew have
been very busy preparing their produce
for today’s ‘market’.
They have tallied the orders, weighed
the produce, stamped and packed the
bags as well as calculating their profit
margin! Awesome work.
Meerkat Room
We would like to welcome Ethan to the Meerkat room!
We look forward to seeing our students back throughout the term to
continue their learning together!
