In order of severity, heat stress includes:

y heat rash;

y heat collapse;

y heat cramps;

y heat exhaustion; and

y heat stroke.

The most severe form of heat stress is heat stroke.

A person suffering from heat stroke requires medical attention urgently

and emergency services should be contacted as soon as possible.

Do not give the patient any stimulants.

While waiting for emergency services

to arrive you should:

y

move the patient to a coolenvironment;

y soak the patient¶s clothing withwater ;

y apply cold packs continuously;

y place them in a tub of cool water;

andy circulate the air around the patient.

 Heat stroke can result in death.

First aid experts should be calledimmediately to treat those suffering

from heat stroke.

 Heat stress occurs when the body is

stressed because of overheating.

Heat stress includes, heat rash, heat

collapse, heat cramps, heat exhaustion

and heat stroke.

ENPPI declared that work at night shall not startbefore comply with the following :-1. Night shift safe method of statement shall be

prepared

2. Royal commission permit ²required

3. HSE team at night

4. Nurse ²ambulance at night

5. Provide flood lighting for work areas and

access road

3.0 Summer plan Implementation:-

ENPPI highlighted that all subcontractors shall

comply with summer plan:-

1. Provide adequate No. of heat shelters

2. Provide cold water stations

3. Ice supply and storage

4. Electrolyte replacement drinks
