CuttingNote: Nest the triangles and parallelograms for best use of the fabric. Follow the Triangle Cutting Guide to cut all triangles.

From Panel-CD6836 Midnight:• Fussy-cut nine 67/8" squares for the block centers.

Note: There will be extra panel fabric left over for another project.

From Misty-CD6846 Black:• Cut thirty-six and thirty-six reversed parallelograms

for block borders.

From Misty-CD6898 Aqua:• Cut thirty-six and thirty-six reversed parallelograms

for block borders.

From Misty-CD6840 Violet:• Cut sixteen triangles.

From Misty-CD6845 Black:• Cut four 21/4" x width-of-fabric (WOF) strips

for binding.• Cut twenty triangles.

Block ConstructionAll seam allowances are 1/4" and pieces are sewn right sides together. Press the seam allowances open unless otherwise indicated.

1. Arrange two Misty-CD6846 Black and two Misty CD6898 Aqua parallelograms as shown in Figure 1. Sew the pairs of parallelograms together along the adjacent long edges.

2. Sew one pair of parallelograms to each short side of a triangle to make a block border (figure 2). Press the seam allowances away from the triangle. Make a total of thirty-six block borders.

3. Referring to the quilt photo for fabric placement, select four matching block borders and one fussy-cut block center square. Sew the short straight edge of one block border to each side of the center square, backstitching and ending stitching 1/4" from each edge of the square (figure 3).

4. Fold the center square along the diagonal, aligning the unsewn diagonal edges of one block corner and matching the parallelogram seams. Sew the corner seam, backstitching at the inner corner (figure 4).

Repeat to sew the remaining corner seams. Make nine blocks (figure 5).

Quilt Top Assembly5. Referring to the quilt photo, and noting fabric

placement, arrange the blocks in three rows of three blocks each.

6. Sew the blocks in each row together along adjacent edges and matching adjacent seams, then sew the rows together.

Finishing7. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing, and quilt

as desired. Trim the backing and batting even with the outer edge of the quilt top.

8. Stitch the binding strips together end to end using diagonal seams. Fold and press the resulting long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together. Stitch to the quilt front, matching raw edges and mitering the corners.

9. Fold the binding to the quilt underside and hand-stitch the folded edge to the quilt back.
