Page 7: I TEACH E SSENTIAL S KILLS College Partnership Project conducted by La Cité des affaires This project is funded by the Government of Canada Human Resources

• You offer vocational training programs in your institution and you have already identified job titles for which you want to write fact sheets.

• It is important that this be a job title and not a training title. It is the job title that corresponds to a NOC code.

JOB TITLE

Page 8: I TEACH E SSENTIAL S KILLS College Partnership Project conducted by La Cité des affaires This project is funded by the Government of Canada Human Resources

Looking up the NOC code

• Starting page of the Index of Titles; http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/SearchKeywordResult.aspx

• Enter a key word to view the job titles proposed by the site.• Choose the one closest to your search.• Read the description and ensure that the description

provided conforms to your search, or else try other descriptions.

• After identifying the code corresponding to your search, enter it next to the job title.

• Make sure to keep the Web link of the targeted job title to cite it at the end of your fact sheet, under the heading “For more information on the occupation”.
