DEAR FRIENDS OF ATHLETICS,

the Czech athletics is having abundant representation at season’s highlight in London. Many Czech athletes will represent at the IAAF World Championships for several times in a row, some will experience sucha great event for the very fi rst time. I hope everyone is able to recast her or his year-long hard workin maximum performance possible, personal & seasonal bests or even a medal in London.

Although athletics is an individual sport, I am convin-ced we have come to London as a team. I am glad that common spirit is working for us, as demonstrated at the European Team Championships in Lille. Athletes mutually cheering for each other contribute to good mood in the squad and this is always very importantfor such a top event. While striving for top perfor-mance, little details decide and I am sure that just being part of the team is one of those details that are important for success.

The World Championships in London will be a cele-bration of athletics in the city and the country, which love our sport. That is proven by huge interest in this event, sold out many weeks and months in advance. Let us enjoy great atmosphere that will surely rule in London and emotional experiences which we will bring back home.
