Lt. Colonels Janet & Stephen Baneld

Dear Friends:

Welcome to Camp Ladore and our annual Family Camp Meetings! This gathering is a highlight of the division’s spiritual life and a wonderful time of fellowship in the Pendel family of God. We are blessed to have joined this family in July and are looking forward to meeting you this weekend and getting to visit you at your corps in the months to come.

We are a family and you belong to this family …by place, because you live in this region of the great Eastern Territory and attend a corps in the division… and by grace, because you are a child of God having been born anew by His Spirit. Together, we are growing to be more like our heavenly Father every day and to reect His holiness to our community. This weekend gives us an opportunity to celebrate our kinship and deepen our commitment to loving God and loving others.

Our thanks to those who have planned and prepared for this event, to all who will participate in our worship, to our guests who have come to challenge us in our faith and to you, for your fellowship!

To God be the glory!

Special Guests Special Guests

Prior to entering The Salvation Army School for Ocer Training (seminary), Bill worked as a pharmacist and Lorraine as a French and Spanish teacher. They were commissioned and ordained as Salvation Army ocers in 1989.

Within the Army, Colonels Bamford have served in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Hartford, Cleveland, and the South America West Territory holding various appointments in those areas.

The Bamfords are blessed with three children. Their older daughter (Michelle) and her husband live in New York, where she works for The Salvation Army. Their middle child (Nicole) works as a school counselor in Lexington, Kentucky, where she resides with her husband and the Bamfords’ two grandchildren. They have a son (Bill IV) who is a CPA and works for the Army in Washington, DC, where he resides with his wife.

My name is Teresita Pacheco. I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I have two grown children. Levid Ortíz is 34 years old and Melanie Ortíz is 32 years old. Before entering the Training School I worked at DHQ in Puerto Rico as a Social Services Coordinator for 17 years. During that time I received my lifetime call to work for the Lord. In 1990 during a Congress in Puerto Rico, God fullled my desire to work for Him and to serve a suering humanity. I went to the School for Ocers’ Training in 1992 and was commissioned to the School. After spending 11 years there, I received marching orders to Rhode Island. I was stationed in Rhode Island for three years. Marching orders then directed me to Guayama, PR, followed by the International Social Justice oce in New York and last year to Ponce. God has been faithful to me. My favorite verse is found in Psalm 37:5, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this”.

Each year, the Pendel Brass and Singers perform at two annual concerts within the PENDEL Division. At least once a year, the group travels within the Salvation Army’s Eastern Territory to collaborate with other corps, churches, and ministry groups in musical worship and outreach. The group has shared its ministry on music and mission tours to USA South and West, Canada, South America, Scandinavia, Jamaica, the Virgin Islands and South Africa.CE

LEBRATING

1 964-2014The Pendel Brass and Singers of The Salvation Army are a group

of musicians from Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware (PENDEL). This select group includes nurses, bank employees, ministers, secretaries, music teachers, as well as high school

and college students. In addition to voluntarily oering time and musical talents in bi-monthly rehearsals and concerts,

members devote themselves to weekly rehearsals and services at their local corps (church) homes.

The group is led by Dr. Harold Burgmayer, Divisional Music Director for the PENDEL Division of the Salvation Army for over 30 years. Since its establishment in 1964, the mission of the Pendel Brass and Singers has been to communicate the love of God and share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music ministry, fellowship, and service.

The band plays a wide and varied repertoire of stirring marches, sensitive hymn tune settings, classical transcriptions, featured soloists, and more developed festival arrangements. The Singers perform arrangements of familiar hymn and gospel songs, as well as more recent Christian vocal literature.

For over thirty years Bob Stromberg has been delighting audiences of all ages with his perfect blend of standup, story and shtick. Always clean, his presentation is a disarming healthy blend of knee-slapping comedy and wholesome encouragement. Bob's facilitates surprising laughter with an arsenal of gifts including physical comedy, a non-threatening touch of audience participation and yes...even hand shadows, which the London Metro described as "stunning". Add to this hilarious and tender stories from his own experience and audiences leave amazed, refreshed and dierent than when they came. He has been a featured and favorite emcee for many large stadium and arena gatherings. He has written Finding the Magnicent in Lower Mundane, the award winning, beautifully illustrated family story

The Miracle at Stinky Bay and the best selling Why Geese Fly Farther Than Eagles. He is known by many for his appearances on the awarding winning TV comedy Bananas. Perhaps most notably, he coauthored and starred in the megahit theatrical production Triple Espresso, ( A Highly Caeinated Comedy). From it's start in Minneapolis, Triple Espresso, described by the Los Angeles Times as "...a triple jolt of inspired craziness" grew to ten casts, has been seen by nearly two million people in dozens of cities from Seattle to The West End of London and become the longest running stage production in the history of San Diego, Minneapolis and the entire state of Iowa. In his role, the Chicago Sun Times described Bob as "...a mesmerizing physical comedian."

Bob StrombergPresenting: HatsDirector: Stephany Suarez, Written by: Katie LuseThe Jesus Theatre is a Creative Arts presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was performed all summer long for campers all across the Territory. Over 700 campers at Camp Ladore accepted Jesus largely in part due to this ministry. The theme this year was Hats. Each hat represents a life. An identity. A future. A choice. We can choose to love God and follow Jesus or go our own way under the inuence of the enemy.

This is your life. This is your choice.

New Day Drop in Center (NDDC):Money collected benets The Salvation Army

The New Day Drop in Center (NDDC) is the centerpiece of The Salvation Army’s eort to address human tracking in Philadelphia. NDDC seeks to be salt and light in the community displaying the love of Christ for his people and for those who are marginalized in society.

Human tracking is the fastest growing business of organized crime, second only to drug dealing in size, and the third-largest criminal enterprise in the world. Each year, 14,500 to 17,500 individuals are tracked into the U.S. from other countries; 80% are women and 50% are minors.

Event Information Event Information

Medical Assistance: Should you need medical assistance during your stay here this weekend you may contact Major Brent Carlson at (215)219-3359 or Major Bonnie Snyder at (215)432-6549.

Prayer Wall: A prayer wall has been created to surround the back walls of the PARC meeting room. Our desire for this prayer wall is that it will become a sacred space to share prayer concerns, praises, and prayers to God. When we ask Christ into our lives we become a part of the Body of Christ, a community of believers. May these walls reect Christ’s love through our prayer oerings to Him. To symbolize this community we would like to have everyone’s photo placed on the walls. Please see our photo takers in the lobby of the PARC to have your picture taken. You may then place that on the prayer wall. Write your name and Corps under your photo and, as you feel comfortable in sharing, add a prayer request near your picture so that others can lift you in prayer. Note cards will also be supplied near the prayer wall so that if you would like to encourage someone feel free to jot them a short note or share an encouraging Scripture passage with them and place in the basket for our helpers to deliver them.

Please treat this area respectfully as others may stand and pray as they read the wall and pray for those who they see pictured. Please approach the prayer wall at any time during the weekend to lift our Pendel Family in prayer.

Prayer Walk: The beauty at Camp Ladore brings us right into God’s presence as we are surrounded by His Creation. Two prayer walks are provided for you this weekend. One prayer walk begins in front of the Lodge. (Although you may start at any of the points listed). The other prayer walk is designed for our youth and begins on the PARC side. This would even work to use together as a family. These prayer walks will be available on the tables by the prayer walls.

“I Belong” Wrist bands: A wrist band has been supplied for each delegate. Please wear this throughout the weekend. The 5 dierent colors represent: Red – 1st seating at meals Blue – 2nd seating at meals (1/2 hour after meal time starts) Red/Blue – Meals and Children’s Meeting ID Yellow – Express Meals/Snacks for sta White – Commuters

Children must wear wristbands to the children’s meetings for check-in.

Social Media: Visit the social media page to stay connected this weekend. Don’t forget to hashtag #ibelong to all your posts when referring to our weekend together at Family Camp! This will be a great place to collect photos of the weekend. Also, make sure you get texts throughout the weekend so you don’t miss a thing!

Driving: We encourage you to park your vehicle and eliminate trac on campus; however, if driving, please abide by the one way signs. When coming from the Lodge (north side) please exit left on South Street and turn left on Belmont. Drive through town turning left on Owego Turnpike to enter the south side of camp. When leaving the PARC (south side) to the Lodge (north side of camp), you may travel the service road around the lake.

Parking: Please do not park in the grass areas. Parking for Harvey Lane lodging is located in the parking lot next to the inrmary. Please do not park directly in front of the apartments other than the spots designated for parking. Others may park in the main parking lot by the PARC.

Walk/Run: Everyone is invited to participate in the WALK/RUN taking place on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Please help us to GIVE HOPE to those aected by human tracking. Money collected for this event ($20.00 registration fee) benets The Salvation Army New Day Drop In Center in Philadelphia. Please see Robyn Frank to register. A free t-shirt will be given for the rst 150 registrants, provided your size is available. All ages are welcome. Make it a family ministry. While enjoying a walk through beautiful Camp Ladore you can make a dierence in someone’s life.

Canteen: The East Stroudsburg canteen is located to the left of the PARC for your convenience and enjoyment. Hours of operation include:

Gatherings: Make sure you attend all meetings as outlined in your schedule to make the most of this weekend. God has brought us here together for a purpose and you will not want to miss what He has planned for you. Please be in prayer that God will be gloried through all that takes place and that the Pendel Division will be renewed and united in love.

Children’s Meetings: You will nd the list of children’s meeting on their page describing locations and age breakdowns. You will note that the 6- 12 year olds will be attending the main gatherings on Friday night and Saturday night. We hope that you will enjoy being together as a family for these evenings.

Trade: We are so excited that trade is with us this year. Check your schedule for hours of operation. You will also nd their hours right next to the children’s meeting page. Please adhere to these hours posted. Trade will not be available during the meeting times so please be courteous to this fact. Note that Trade will be on the two sides of the PARC. Don’t miss this chance!

Camp Store: The Camp Store is back this year. If you are looking for camp wear and miscellaneous Camp Ladore products be sure to check your schedule for their hours of operation as well. Don’t forget to purchase a sweatshirt for the cool nights!

Check Out: We are extremely grateful to the full time camp sta here at Camp Ladore and the way they are able to keep the grounds and buildings here so beautiful. Please take care of everything while you visit for the weekend. Take your trash with you as you leave meetings in the PARC. Pick up any trash as you are walking around. And as you leave on Sunday, make sure you leave your place of lodging in good condition. Please take sheets o the bed and leave in the rooms and make sure you pack up all your belongings.

Lost and Found: If you nd something that does not belong to you please turn it in to Mark Scott or a DHQ Ocer so that we can nd the rightful owner. Thank You!

THE DOCTRINES OF THE SALVATION ARMY

1. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.

2. We believe that there is only one God, who is innitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.

3. We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead – the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.

4. We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.

5. We believe that our rst parents were created in a state of innocency, but by their disobedience they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suering and death made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever will may be saved.

7. We believe that repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit, are necessary to salvation.

8. We believe that we are justied by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and that he that believeth hath the witness in himself.

9. We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.

10. We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctied, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

11. We believe in the immortality of the soul; in the resurrection of the body; in the general judgment at the end of the world; in the eternal happiness of the righteous; and in the endless punishment of the wicked.

LAS DOCTRINAS DEL EJÉRCITO DE SALVACIÓN
