Project Overview IEEE is working on an initiative to review its legal status worldwide in 93 countriesThe purpose is to ensure that IEEE complies with all applicable laws and regulations in every country where it conducts its activitiesIEEE has identified three major objectives:– Maintain corporate control over the local country entity – Perform a full range of activities supported by
Organizational Units including MGA, EAB, Standards, TAB
– Limit IEEE tax liability
Only new registrations are being established by IEEE – Impacts existing local registrations

An outcome of the project is typically the creation of a legal entity in a country. However, there are countries where no action is required.IEEE International Corporate Regulatory Compliance (IRC) and Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) are working in close collaboration on this projectMGA is working closely with Sections and RegionsEstimated schedule for project completion:– Complete Legal Reviews by 4th quarter 2011– Implementation will go through end of 2013
