SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hull Christian School will hold their biannual society meeting on Wednesday, February 21 at 7:30 PM in the HCS music room. The proposed budget for the 2018-2019 school year will be presented and voted on and the election of three new Board members will take place. Western Christian High School: parent teacher conferences and the midyear Society meeting will be held on Thursday, February 22. Conferences will be held from 5:30 to 7 PM with the society meeting to follow in the cafeteria. Western Christian High School: is looking for two outgoing and enthusiastic fulltime people to serve either as co-managers or one manager and one assistant manager for their new thrift store which will be opening in 2018. This is a great opportunity to start this business from the ground up. Managerial responsibilities will include being responsible for all duties having to do with the operation of the store, including, but not limited to sorting and flow of donations, scheduling of staff, monetary responsibilities, facilitation of displays, advertising duties and decisions, research and development, customer, employee, and volunteer relations and facilitations of deliveries and pickups. WORSHIP NOTES

Welcome to Hope CRC! The morning we praise God that we can celebrate the profession of faith of Cade Broek, Carter Broek, Brady Covey, and Caden Fenchel. We are thankful for what God has done and continues to do in their lives. We also be sharing the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. For our visitors, if you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and you are a professing member in good standing at your home church, you are welcome to share with us in the sacrament. This morning, Pastor Todd will be reading from Psalm 25, reminding us about our walk with God. In the evening, Pastor Todd will be reading from Jeremiah 12. Jeremiah pleads with God to tell him why bad people are allowed to succeed. God provides answers that we all need to hear. As we gather, let us worship God today!

THIS WEEK AT HOPE

Hope Auction Committee: We will have a brief meeting after the morning service today in the entry by the mail boxes. We will be signing up for responsibilities so take an ink pen along. Thanks! (Doug & Lee and Mike & Angie)

Viewpoints Bible study: will meet tonight after the evening service. Driesens are providing lunch and Van Voorsts are leading. GEMS will meet Monday, February 19 at Hope CRC from 6:45-8:30 pm. Parents & Youth Group Students: This past week there was an email sent out to all the parents of the Hull Hope Youth Group Students. Please, check to see if you got it. We are partnering with Bill and Deb Middendorp from Chicago on a Serve Trip this summer. All the information is in this email. I need you to respond NO LATER than March 1st. Reply to the email or text Lee De Groot at 712-470-4244. Thanks! Save the Date: The annual day of prayer service will be held at First CRC on Wednesday, March 14, at 7:00pm.

Church Auction: The annual Church Education Auction is coming up on March 21. Now is a great time to start thinking about what to donate! Need some ideas? How about a beautiful wood project, indoor and outdoor decor, a certificate to paint a room, babysit, or detail a car? Save the date for this fun-filled night and get working on your best ideas!

Center for Financial Education: Join CFE’s annual meeting on Tuesday, February 20, at 7:00 AM in their Sioux Center office. Anyone involved with CFE: clients, financial partners, volunteers, prayer warriors, board members, staff, and community members are encouraged to attend. Information on our progress, review of the new budget, election of officers, and introduction of staff and the new Executive Director will take place. Light refreshments served. Women’s Connection: All ladies are invited to the Women’s Connection on Wednesday, February 21 @9:15 am in the Whispering Heights Senior Center. The inspirational speaker is Gwen Clemons of Soldier, IA with the message, “A Miracle and Nothing Less”. Music will be provided by Nancy Sharon of the Notables, playing her accordion. The feature will be Sarita Van Maanen with “Plexus-A New You!”An offering will be received for Stonecroft Ministries. Brunch is $4.00. The Chalk Guy: The Hull Chamber invites you to a fantastic night of entertainment for all ages, welcoming BEN GLENN, The Chalk Guy to Hull on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 7:30pm at Western Christian High School. Ben Glenn has been a full-time speaker since 1995, sharing with church groups, students and teachers all over the world. His story of growing up with Learning Disabilities and ADHD, as well as his amazing live art demonstration, combine into a powerful and entertaining program. He is the author of "Simply Special: Learning to Love Your ADHD" and the founder of the Chalkguy LEGO drive. Memory Loss Support Group: will be meeting on Thursday, February 22, at 7:00pm at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care. The program will be on “caregiver guilt”. Please come with questions and ideas about this topic as well as ideas for future programs. We want to encourage family and friends of people with dementia to attend. HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS

We rejoice with Justin and Mandy Hoekstra in the birth of their daughter Kendyl Hayze. She was born on February 15, and weighs 8lbs 12oz. Mother and baby are both doing well.

Betty Van Schepen was hospitalized earlier this week but responded very well to treatment. The hope is that she will be able to return home soon. Pray for peace and healing for Betty.

We continue to pray for Jemma Jean De Jong, daughter of Sarah and Todd De Jong, and grand-daughter of Diana and Dave Kooima. Jemma has made great progress and the hope is that she will be released from the hospital very soon. Pray for continued health and healing.

We pray for many others who continue to recover from recent surgeries, illnesses, or treatments. We pray for peace, patience, and endurance.

We remember our members reside in care facilities: Marv Boon at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them.

FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS

LeRoy Jongetjes was admitted to Avera McKennon Hospital on Monday evening. He was scheduled to have surgery on Friday morning to remove his little toe. Pray for healing.

Pray for Shar Bonestroo’s mother, Betty den Hoed, who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Pray that chemotherapy treatments are effective.

Bob Soodsma continues to recover from hip replacement surgery. Pray for a complete recovery.

Continue to pray for Skyler Bonestroo as he recovers from shoulder surgery. He will begin physical therapy on Monday.

Continue to remember Darlene Kroese as she recovers from surgery. Charles and Darlene are at Pleasant Acres in room 28.

Pray for our shut ins: Sally De Groot, Audrey Jongetjes, Florence Kroese, and Melvin Van Otterloo at Pleasant Acres; Joyce De Vries, Verne Huisman, Julianne Kats, Anthony Smit, and Goldie Veldman at Aspen Heights; Esther Rozeboom in her son’s home, Wilma Altena at the Good Samaritan Society in George, and Ardelle Westra in Sioux City.
