RE: WHY IS IT NOW COOL FOR COMMERCIALPRODUCERS TO BUY HEREFORD BULLS?In today’s agriculture world where profit margins areextremely tighter than three to five years ago, topcommercial beef producers are looking closely at whatgenetics make them the most money. This is the same thingthat corn and soybean producers have done for decades. They are evaluating the differentgenetics available and determining which of those genetic packages will give them themost profit potential with the highest accuracies.Today, Hereford genetics are in the ball game. The American Hereford Association has thedata to back up our claims which helps top commercial producers make high accuratebreeding decisions.

Here are a few reasons why it is COOL TO BUY HEREFORD BULLS:Value of Heterosis: The Circle A Ranch and Harris Ranch research projects BOTHdocumented that calves sired by Hereford bulls have a $30 per head advantage in feedlotprofitability, and females have the maternal advantage of 7% higher pregnancy rate whencomparing the Hereford-sired females to the Angus-sired females. Data from Circle A alsoproves a net income of $51 more per cow per year, and a significantly higher selling pricefor bred heifers.

Power of Accuracy: Data is power, and the American Hereford Association is leading theindustry in genetic technology. The AHA has worked to develop Hereford-specificgenomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs) through the national cattleevaluation. In addition, the AHA continues to build solid genetic data through the NationalReference Sire Program (NRSP), which allows Hereford breeders to test young sires in realworld commercial settings.

Driving the Demand: Certified Hereford Beef continual steady growth creates a strongdemand for Hereford and Hereford/English crossbred cattle. The AHA continues to supportHereford Influenced Feeder Sales across all regions of the US which gives both large andsmall producers an outstanding marketing outlet for feeder cattle. In addition, AHA hasrecently started new programs like the Premium Red Baldy Program, and The HerefordAdvantage Program.

Focus on Efficiency: In the past 14 years Hereford Breeders have changed Hereford cattlefor the better. Birth weights have been reduced 14%, weaning and yearling weights haveboth increased by 20%, and End Product Carcass Merit has increased by 30%. That’spretty COOL!

DELIVERING IT ALL: Herefords are accountable, predictable, profitable and sustainable.Known as the efficiency experts as they reduce input costs and excel in feed efficiency.Herefords offer hardiness, fertility, soundness, longevity and gentle disposition.

If you are a cattlemen, and want your operation to be PROFITABLE AND COOL, buyHereford genetics. Take advantage of easy money with the words HEREFORD &HETEROSIS.

MAKE YOUR CATTLE BETTER TODAY BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO MARKET THEM TOMORROW!
