Thank you “I am grateful for considering me trustwor-thy in appointing me to your service”. 1 Tim 1,12 I would like to give thanks to God, the Con-gregation of the Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament for trusting in me to have sent me to work in this parish community of apostolic life, which of the fourteen years I have seen her grow in all aspects. In the same manner I give a big thank you to Fr. Jerry, Fr. Jim and Fr. Fabio for their giving and because we worked together in harmony for the service of all; for the good of the church and the parish. We alone are instruments in the hands of God. More than to give and serve, I learned much about everyone, in which I had a friendship and worked with in this parish.
I take with me a precious remembrance from all. I will take all of you in my heart and I will have you in my prayers.
May the great Lord of mercy bless you always.
Love Sr. Januaria

Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made; For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
(all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Song of Praise (Saturday 5:00 pm Mass): Do You Know Your Shepherd’s Voice Refrain: Do you know your Shepherd’s voice? Are you list’ning with your heart? Have you stopped to hear him calling, felt the peace his words impart? (Final: Are you list’ning to your Shepherd?... Do you know your Shepherd’s voice?)
As the world shouts its orders that are easiest to hear, Won’t you draw away and listen to your Shepherd standing near?
Do you know your Shepherd’s voice? Are you list’ning with your heart? Have you stopped to hear him calling, felt the peace his words impart? Are you list’ning?
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters and he restores my soul!

Death XXIII Ashes or “cremains” as they are called are intended by the Church to be placed after the Mass into a niche at a cemetery or mausoleum. In all events they are never to be scattered, or worse taken home and placed on the mantle, a practice that has developed recently which is completely forbidden by the Catholic church. Because we believe in the resurrection of the body, we reverence the remains, whether they be a full body burial, or ashes. I know that people say they would like their ashes to be scattered over their favorite spot, but when you have done that, those who remain have nowhere to go to honor you. One of the reflections from death camp survivors after the Holocaust was that they had nowhere to visit, as the Nazis dumped the ashes of the Jews and others into the river. For better or worse having a grave or a niche to visit humanizes those who remain. We can go to a place to remember them and offer a prayer. What would have happened had they cremated Jesus’ body after his death on the cross, and then scattered the ashes? Of course God could raise him from whatever condition, but the strong tradition of the “empty tomb” would have been meaningless. Because we are in Christ and await the resurrection of our own bodies, the church has always buried and then kept sacred the burial place. You can go even today to the catacombs outside Rome to see the burial places of those ancient first Chris-tians We too participate in this holy tradition. IHM Pray for us. Fr. Jerry
