- New Class Instructor Introduced!Joining our ever-expanding group of independent-class instructors is Marjorie McGraw with her new class offerings beginning in February. A graduate of Arizona State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics Edu-cation, Marjorie has 28 years experience in teach-ing Home Economics for both Los Angeles City Schools and the Anderson Union High School District. Added experience entails 5 years of teaching Adult Garment Sewing Classes for Shasta College. With 20+ years of experience in quilting, she has taught quilting classes in far reaching cities as Ashland, Oregon, Reno, Nevada, Sun City, Arizona, and locally for 10 years in Red-ding, Califonia. Her works have been exhibited for several years at the Pacific International Quilt Show in Santa Clara, California; she has received a second-place ribbon for a large quilt at a 2014 judged show in Redding; and she was selected as the featured quilter in the 2015 Sun Country Quilt Show in Red Bluff, California. Marjorie is a member of both the Sun Country Quilt Guild and the Redding Quilt Sew-Ciety. She has held various organizational positions in the Sun Country Quilters to include Librarian, Block-of-the-Month, Vice President, Workshop Chairman, Scholarship Coordinator, and New Member Orien-tations Leader. A saying she heard several years ago she brings to her life as well as her craft: “Its not your aptitude but attitude that determines you altitude.”

- NEW CLASSES ADDED!With the advent of a new year,our classroom avail-ability is diminishing with the addition of new classes beginning later this month. The popular Sunday Suprise classes in which a project which can be completed in a single ses-sion has been extended into 2017. These classes have been rescheduled to meet on the second and fourth Sunday of every month from Noon to 4 pm in Quilt’n Thyme’s classroom. With the increase of computerized embroidery machines, our sales associate Rosemary Ingram will be giving two classes on How To Transfer Embroidery

Designs to a USB Memory Stick. The classes are scheduled to January 30th and February 27th, 9-11 am. A four-session class, Forest Friends, taught by Marjorie McGraw, will begin in February. In this class attendees will create a quilt based upon the pattern “Fancy Forest” by Elizabeth Hartman . The schedule for these class sessions are as follows:Session 1, The Fox - February 6th, 10 - 2 Session 2, The Owl & Hedgehog - March 6th, 10 - 4Session 3, Rabbit & Thistle - April 3rd, 10 - 4Session 4, Firefly & Quilt Assembly - May 1st 10 - 4
