They are the highest ranges of the himalayan mountain.The average height of these ranges is 6,000 meters above sea level. The important mountains passes are

1. Shipli-la which connects Gartok

in Tibet with Shimlain Himachal Pradesh across river Satluj 2. Jelep-la which connets Lhasa the capital of Tibet with Kalimpong in west bengal.

They provide good transport and also attra tourist
