8. Individual Supporters can raise funds for you too!

How?1. By send a personalised appeal message/email to their networks2. By spreading the word on whichever social networking site they use, such as

Facebook or Orkut. Lots of people take the time to read what their friends are doing.

3. By writing a post or two on their blogs. One idea is to write about why they support your cause. Ask your spouse, siblings, parents and children to help you spread the word.

4. Etc…

30

1,000+ fundraisers raised Rs. 50+ lacs for their favourite NGOs/charities in 2008 through iGive pages alone.

1. Each of your supporters has the potential to reach out to their networks. 2. Provide incentives, such as day’s visit to your NGO, for your leading

fundraiser.

Quotes

“The India Giving Challenge gave a wonderful opportunity for all our supporters and campaigner -volunteers to use the period and platform of the event for further expansion of the support base, and also test the reach and efficacy of their social networks. It was a fun-filled time and a great experience for everyone.” - Vinayak Lohani, Founder, Parivaar

“We thank GiveIndia for giving us the opportunity to participate in the India Giving Challenge and also coming up with this kind of initiative. It is really helpful to help people in need.”- Sridevi Potu, President, Sveccha Foundation

"The challenge gave us an impetus to reach new sources. Surprisingly we found the Joy of Giving was more explicit amongst small donors who appreciated the cause and not the benefit of tax relief. We are reassured that good causes get good support." - Mr. Ranganathan , Founder, Vidyarambam
