About the Program
The 2020 Pathways Program is planned to be based in the Upper Hunter region, in proximity to our operating sites around the Singleton and Muswellbrook area.
The Upper Hunter Pathways Program will seek to engage 15 participants. Aboriginal persons living or with a connection to the Upper Hunter area are encouraged to apply.
Participants will be selected and engaged by JobTrail, which will also provide supervision over the duration of the Program.
To be eligible for the Program candidates must:
• be unemployed but actively seeking employment
• participate in an interview/selection process• have a Drivers license or ability to obtain one
after selection• be able to meet Medical requirements.
Program’s structure
The Program commences on 27 April 2020.
Pathways will run in a structured way for 26 weeks.
• Phase 1 (12 weeks)- Pre-employment (Back to Work), includes commencement of a Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations, Glencore Generic, Medical; Lifeskills.
• Phase 2 (14 weeks) - Job Ready (Training and work experience), includes specific competency (operator) training.
Participants will be supported by mentors at each participating site. Successful applicants will be engaged by WorkPac / JobTrail for the duration of the Program.
Pathways is an opportunity but not a guarantee of a job. The desired outcome is to increase prospects of employment in mining and associated services.
