BRAIN TEASER

1. Imagine you are in a room, no doors, windows or anything, how do you get out?

Answer:

STOP IMAGINING!

Approach to the study of cognitive development. The theory is based on the idea that humans process the information they receive, rather than merely responding to stimuli. According to the standard information-processing model for mental development, the minds machinery includes attention mechanisms for bringing information in.

Working memory for actively manipulating information, and long term memory passively holding information so that it can be used in the future.

The Four Pillars of the Information Processing Model

THINKING the process of thinking includes the activities of perception of external stimuli, encoding the same and storing the data so perceived and encoded in ones mental recesses.

ANALYSIS OF STIMULI This is the process by which the encoded stimuli are altered to suit the brains cognition and interpretation process to enable decision making.

ENCODING encoding is the process of putting a sequence ofcharactersinto a special format for transmission or storage purposes.STRATEGIZATION to make a plan for achieving a goal.GENERALIZATION It is a foundational element of logic and human reasoning.AUTOMATIZATION It is a foundational element of logic and human reasoning.

SITUATIONAL MODIFICATION a process by which an individual uses his experience, which is nothing other than a collection of stored memories, to handle a similar situation in future.

OBSTACLE EVALUATION this step maintains that besides the subjects individual development level, nature of the obstacle or problem should also be taken into consideration while evaluating the subjects intellectual, problem solving and cognitive acumen.

The information processing models assume serial processing of stimulus inputs.

1. SERIAL PROCESSING effectively means one process has to be completed before the next start.2. PARALLEL PROCESSSING assumes some or all processes involved in a cognitive task occur at the same time.
